Section off the ocean and work from the top down. Time = money. This still doesn't adress the original post that it's not as attractive as its other features. You can get those sponges now and do the same job.

 

I don't understand why you are still caught up on the attractiveness of the feature. Also I would pay someone more who can do the same job in half the time and still have the same quality just fyi over someone who takes double the time for the same job. Just depends on the person I suppose. I kinda have to agree with joseph. Although I understand that it may not be as attractive like pets or functional features like just water and pyro for builders etc. But I think many would still buy this feature because it is there to buy and have a bonus. But I believe your stance is it is not worth $15 just for the fastbreak well I suppose that could be true, but not everyone feels that way.

 

I can't argue with that. If you think it's worth it personally I can't say your wrong. But i personally don't think it is I still think a little more has to be added.

 

I won't argue with that either I wouldn't mind more being added to it to make it seem more valuable for others who feel it is not worth it.

 

Alright, now that I've had a full nights sleep and a bit more reflection on the subject, I suppose I'll adorn my super duper handy dandy thinking cap and see what I can come up with in the way of a response to you @Turtwiginator95.

Firstly,

The crux of mine and @HCPillarofFire (forgive me if I'm misreading you Hcp) argument is largely that players have and will purchase a feature with a function that improves their capacity to do something before they donate for a status symbol. If players are happy and willing to donate for a pet to wander around behind them why wouldn't they donate for something that allows them to complete their task quicker? Wouldn't that augment their gameplay?

In my mind, and forgive me if I'm wrong, but personally I find the only reason to argue against a suggestion is if you feel it hurts a certain group of players, yourself, or the server. If you don't feel that this suggestion has a downside for anyone, why do you feel the need to argue so vehemently against it?

Personally I'd like to compare this to a food web that most of us are familiar with from assorted biology classes throughout high school. (Here's an example) In the example I gave if you remove all the rabbits with some magic Elmer Fudd type character you'd see a decrease over time in the population of foxes and owls, because they have less things to prey on, while seeing a simultaneous increase in the vegetation of the area because less things are preying on it. This effect would ripple through the entire food web in such a way that it'd affect the entire ecosystem to remove that single species from the region.

In a similar manner, if we were to make it easier to clear an ocean as a result of this suggestion, mayhaps some users would decide they'd make some pretty pennies clearing oceans for cash, as at the moment I can't say I've ever seen someone advertise doing so. However with the possibility being easier it's more likely that someone would advertise that they'd clear oceans for cash. In turn, some users would work their project around this so they can use that previously unused space, stimulating ocean clearing as a viable source of income as opposed to just a chore that no one ever does as it is now. As sponges are used more for this type of thing chances are demand would increase, thus stimulating a market for sponges as well. Everything links, we just lack a map showing us how they go about doing it.

While I'm perfectly content to acknowledge that this is here, I feel it attacks my perspective on the issue and not my actual opinion on it. While I'd absolutely love to get into a back and forth I think it might be wiser to step away instead.

Finally I find this this is more than worthy to be a feature in my opinion as a VIP+, given the current support I think it's safe to say a fair amount of users would happily pay the suggested price for this, with no need for additions. However I don't know anyone that'd say no to more bang for their buck.

But @Turtwiginator95, I see you're opinion and you're entitled to it, as it seems you're about as attached to it as I am to mine however I'm going to refrain from continuing to post as well... it'd get us about as far as a steak at a vegan potluck.

Yes, as Ive stated before this would change game play and make it easier to clear water. Im not going to say it doesn't change the gameplay for the user I never would, thats silly. But thats not the problem here. Im not even against the idea of having a water++ its just not enough for a player to pay $15 for JUST faster sponge break. You seem to be under the illusion i dont like this idea. I never said i didn't like it I constantly said it wasn't enough of a pro to match the price of paying $15 but thats my opinion. Players like yourself and HP will donate for such a thing, but you need to think of donations as a business. If there is a way to make it more attractive you can. You dont need to limit yourself to just one addition.

This is a reasonable cause to argue but not the only cause. If something can be improved then you can argue to improve it. There are may reasons to argue, or as i call it debate about something. In this case i see a way to make this donation better. I doesn't need to be wrong or hurting someone. As I said before not everything is so black and white, just because you argue against something does not mean you disagree the whole goal.

As a Bio-Major in a university i like the way you used an ecosystem chain disruption as an example how did you know lol. (This is not a response to you argument just to the example you gave. In you example you are taking away a organism at the center of the food chain the "primary consumer" This will affect the Secondary Consumer and the Tertiary Consumers above them as you said. However an ecosystem that has a new factor heading into it like a creature with better adaptations then the Tertiary class can take over the food chain can change it just as much. In short you took away something in you example but in reality you are adding in a predator with better adaptations making your example incorrect. may i suggest a G.M.O. example mixed with a stock market example instead of a food web? (but of course thats just an observation on you example it has nothing to do with proving a point in out current debate)

A ocean cleaning job can be preformed by the tools you already have. This suggestion will just shorten the time. But a pretty penny? No, since they are doing the same job a person with water can do what a person with water++ can do it will just a little more time. You argument that it will somehow change the entire market like water++ will only be able to clear water the only difference is a little more time thats it. This wont be such a huge deal sponges will still be spawned with /kit and only people with water in the first place can use sponges there is no new players coming into the game its people with the power to already do this they can just do it a little faster now.

I dont see how VIP+ has anything to do with it .-. it just shows me you buy alot of features so you probably would buy it if it had more or not just to buy it to support the server which is awesome. I myself am just $$ because i buy what i need because im poor in-game and out XD so form a perspective of a person that only buys whats needed i have to disagree with the current suggestion and demand more bang for my buck but thats my opinion.

I do see you point, and i see where you coming from and i dont deny people wont by this at all because they would. But can you change it so more people would buy it? Yes. I would just like to see a maximization or profits. I wouldn't mind if this was incorporated as is, but i could be better.

I agree with you on many things but i still dont see this is as useful as other donations of its class or even the ones before it water and water+. As you said i will reframe from posting and give others a chance to decide for themselves. Our arguments as i think you can agree are the strongest they can be sort of repeating ourselves over and over we will just get no where like that.
