Code: Minecraft Name: MorlindMom Suggestion: The territory within new town apps (not yet approved or rejected) should be protected against any other new town applications. Subsequent town applications should not be approved if the territory overlaps prior town applications. The application received first should have a hold on that land until the application is either approved or rejected formally. Reason: SayNove put in a town application and needed 3 people in bordering towns to give permission because they were all within 15 blocks from SayNove's new town. Two of the three gave permission very quickly, and the third town owner hadn't yet been online. Within 24 hours, a LATER town application was made and approved taking some of SayNove's land. And it is landlocked by the 3 prior towns, so the new one cannot be moved to accommodate the theft of part of it. I asked a mod to ask the owner of the LATER app if the boundaries could be moved 20 or so in 2 directions so SayNove's PRIOR application would still be valid...and he said NO. Unbelievable. Not understanding completely the situation and timing of the applications, I do believe that the town posts should have been protected once the application was submitted as well. Due to the emphatic NO from the staff member, I have to assume that all rules were followed and that the staff member took the time to investigate the situation. If you truly feel this was not done correctly, you may have no recourse but to file a staff complaint in order for this to be evaluated by those much more knowledgeable than me.
The staff member told me he saw SayNove's application, but since one of the three adjacent town owner's hadn't given permission yet, he granted the overlapping town. It hadn't even been 24 hours yet. And if asked, I'm sure SayNove would have been willing to shift his town to the east 15 blocks, then that last approval wouldn't have been required. And the application could have been approved immediately. Second option: the mod could have asked the second town applicant to move their signs a bit. But, instead, he just approved the overlapping one...laziness. Period.
