I could not find if this has been suggested directly recently, and so if it has I apologize. Minecraft Name: Skylexia Suggestion: Like the Spawn Shop transfer application, allow users to trade Portal positions in the server portal room. Reason: This would indirectly satisfy the suggestion of having a "premium" portal room, with hypothetically minimal additional strain on staff. As far as I know, the implementation of this would be very similar to the way we transfer spawn shops. There would be an application to which both users have to respond to trade a portal, and a cost, although I'm not sure which user should be charged since it is essentially a "trade" and not a transfer, so I'll leave that piece up to staff if implemented. Both users will already have to have a portal for their towns. In terms of work the staff would have to do, based on my own experience with StarGate, I believe they would only have to verify the application information like they always do, locate both portals, and remake the signs for them in the new spots, and if the nomenclature is correct they should only have to do it Portal Room side. Any Other Information: This does, I believe, give an unfair advantage to users who have been on longer and who already have good portal positions, which does kinda suck, however it does create an additional economy for trading portals similar to spawn shop transfers and does give users the opportunity to buy their way into a better spot, without huge strain on staff and without deactivating portals and making people as angry as other solutions I've seen recently. Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: We already have StarGate, all that would need to be added is another application.
This is actually really easy to implement, it would also take money out of the economy as I imagine there would be a server tax just like spawn shop transfers. Good idea @Skylexia, +1!
Agreed 100%. I know a few users I might be able to trade with, and it would give towns like Lancaster an opportunity for a top-floor portal (if you can find a trade).
I don't really see any serious downsides, though I doubt people with great portal locations will be very willing to sell to perhaps even the highest bidder.
That's kinda the point of a market though Perhaps if there is a 'Premium' portal area created, there could be a small amount of rent charged, just so there is some incentive to sell if you don't use it much. +1 on the idea though.
