    Item: Vine..
    Data value: 106
    Current Price: 0.20 per
    Suggested price: 1.20 per
Brief description: Vines are only obtained by big jungle trees, either by world generation or by man-made 2x2 sapling squares. You need shears to harvest it, and you can grow it on walls.
Open Discussion: Vines grow and are renewable, which makes me consider it a crop. It is one of the lowest money making crops, and seem to go hand in hand with cocoa beans, as you can commonly find them on jungle trees. Vines grow slower than most crops, and I feel like they should get raised because of Ecocitycraft's 12-20k per hour rule. If vines become raised and considered as a crop, players would have a new farming method, and the staff on Ecc could make ultimate shears, like the melon sword or pumpkin axe.

This is interesting, but I would not necessarily call them a crop in the normal sense. It isn't used for food at all. It is essentially a decoration. Yet, it does grow, can be harvested, and does make money. If this was to be considered a crop, I would suggest it but considered a much higher price due to the fact it cannot be semi or auto farmed. Just saying, I don't know if I agree, but, those are my thoughts.

Yea, I was having trouble considering what price they would be and I agree with you about them not being a crop, but more of a farming 'method', maybe the price should be changed to around something like 1.50

I say it should be raised, but then again you have to think vines are like pumpkins and melons. They grow all by themselves and cannot be auto or semi-auto farmed. so vines are pretty much cocoa mixed with wheat mixed with pumpkins making this a very confusing crop.

It should be raised, but not too horribly much because it grows by itself and has an **ultimate** tool because of max shears.

This could be a thing people just will need to know how to farm them right, and also the price now doesn't make them worth ANYTHING

I agree with you Shane except on the *ultimate tool*. There is an ultimate tool for now( efficiency 5 Shears with fortune 3 unbreqking 3 I think) but if this gets raised, there could be an unobtainable eff 6 fortune 4 unbreaking 3 or something shears in the star shop for like 750-1000 stars, which means people would have to vote for stars to afford it. but other than that, it seems like you agree with me too.

Far as I know, vines can cause a lot of lag (client more than server, I believe - but it extends pretty far)...even in very small quantities. More than all crops, water, lava, etc. If they were to be raised, I would say keep it close to 12k in the 12k-20k range, to prevent people from causing lag.

It is mostly client-side, but anyone in that area would lag. However, if it is mostly client and not server, it may not be as much of an issue (so long as people aren't making farms big enough to totally make people rage :p).

... That, wasn't a bad idea!! Maybe make a limit on how big vine farms are?...

Lag is bad and I don't see why we need another crop, but this ain't a bad idea.

I first thought it was a good idea, but then I realized that there is a way to auto farm it.

    If a person:
    • Places a vine on a block 3 blocks above the ground
    • Points their cursor straight ahead (2 blocks above ground)
    • Holds down the mouse with a weight
    • And goes afk
I think it would be considered an auto-farm since there is no afk timer.

Other then the fact that unless they aimed right they'd destroy the wall, it would take a long long long time to grow back. You might get a stack of vines in an hour. And it would be *duh* easy to detect for auto farm.

The space it would be growing into would be filled with air. Vines can still grow into air.

After some thought and your point, I realized my argument is invalid.
I thought that the server made auto-farming impossible to do, instead of illegal to do.
That was my first thought when I found out that any form of cactus farming is completely illegal.

Then I realized, if people could do this with vines, why couldn't they do it with sugarcane?
So that makes you right. Auto farming is illegal, but not impossible.

    True, but it's ban-able.

But also, cactus farming isn't illegal, it's impossible. Go ahead, try and place a cactus block sometime. It's banned from all the worlds, you couldn't place one if you tried.

 Well, now it's only impossible because the admins wanted to make it illegal...

It was actually AndrewKM (server owner) who made it illegal a long long time ago.

Technically he's not.. He only has a lot of perms.

As for the suggestion, Moquito35, do you know how much vines make per hour right now? roughly.
