Yes, but you may not realize that there are tons and tons and tons of records that are hidden in private. A user might not show up if you search them in the bar. But they might have records in the hidden area of the forum.

Hiden area on the forums? Staff claims to have all records, whether that be forum warnings or in game warnings, all in an archive. It doesn't matter if someone's ban is in secret it would be there in the staff archive. You can't ban someone without officially banning them...
Edit: And if there's a player who's ban history slipped through the archive then that player got lucky. But for the common folk who's bans won't be hidden/whipped clean public records would be a nice tool for background checks. -
silencedterror BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️You can't? Why? What is stopping staff from doing that?

When you type /ban mochocrap (reason) it's automatically entered into an archieve who banned them, why, and when. Similar to the example picture I linked in the original suggestion. Without putting a reason physi or other staff could see that, in the logs, as you abusing your power and banning random players. There needs to be a reason.
-
-1 Mainly for the reasons that you don't actually need to see ban reasons. Many involve affairs that quite frankly the average user has no reason to see. As for the argument "you should know who you are dealing with" all scamming bans come from appeals. Search their name in the ban appeals/complaints forum and boom, you have scamming records.
You will be demoted if you ban someone without a reason. There are already checks on individual staff abusing power. A lot of them. -
It's not just bans but warnings too, there are countless players who troll the forums and in game racking up warning after warning but don't always get banned for it. Sure you can search the bans/complaints section but having a archive where everything is right there would make it so much easier to know what kind of player he/she it. I'm sure staff could make some alterations to some bans.
That's what I was saying.. -
You should be able to do your own research on trolls, etc. Most regular trolls have multiple complaints/ban appeals. Also, most forum warnings come with a staff post saying they were warned.
As well as you didn't respond to my original point. Bans don't need to be seen by normal users. I am certain that there would be more issues with people seeing ban reasons than not. There would be much more controversy, was that a fair ban? Well I can say for sure that bans are already taken badly by the troll community we have. Seeing the exact reasons on bans is likely to enrage them even more, leading to more bans and less players.-

I would like to do the things that staff don't have enough time to do or whatever they've been calling it. I want to do research instead of them to get facts straight and get more information to present to the staff.
