Exactly, nearly 150 ratings. As I've said, this isn't interesting or creative, or anything worth rating, just people wanting money, and others ratings.

 

And even less respect than before! It's a win win!

Enough of blowtube's example then... just wanted to make a quick point on how it can be used.
Back on to the main track of this suggestion however, dork makes a good point, that people are "buying the ratings", rather than doing a giveaway for the sake of being generous.

 

I agree, even though I made one, it was just for a quick and easy giveaway, if a mod were to delete it, I would be vey happy.
My intentions were not to get ratings... I also posted it before the trophies soo...

I think that giveaways should be banned. 142 ratings for 20k... I was 150k but many people like me unrated it right after. I advise to do that too. Its unfair.

 

I don't see why giveaways should be banned. Unless the giveaway is FOR rating the thread.

Hmm. Personally I strongly agree with this, there shouldn't be threads out there for this.

But the second I stood back and thought about this from a larger viewpoint, the whole thing fell apart very very quickly.

What's the difference between ratings and trophy points? Nothing. If I have 500 ratings or 5000 trophy points I get nothing. People used to opt to get ratings just so the number of ratings would go up. Now people are just opting to get trophy points just so the number of trophy points will go up.

Personally I'm against people trying to get trophy points, but I'm also against people trying to get ratings.


We might as well ban people from playing forum games because they'll get more trophy points from all the pots.
