I disagree - I personally think it should be as easy as possible to apply for a rank. The application isn't supposed to be a test, the 'test' part of the process is earning 15k. For a lot of people applying for resident is their first interactions with this forum (and very possibly their first experience of any forum) and we should do all we can to make it as simple as possible.

Compare the complaints/appeals section. We have a similar template to file a complaint, but not for appeals. Appealing a ban shouldn't be made as simple as possible. Having to find and use the correct format etc is part of the effort required of appealing a ban . Whereas in contrast to appeals, we want to make it simple for a victim to file a complaint.

 

I disagree. Applying for resident should be easy along with all ranks, because ranks are a great money sink for the server. The easier it is for people to apply for ranks, the more likely they are to do so, which results in more money being taken out of the economy, which is a primary purpose to having ranks in the first place. Ranks aren't a test of dedication. Sure, the money you need to buy them is, but once you have that money, there's no reason why it shouldn't be as easy as possible to get the rank.

 

Resident is supposed to be easy to get. It's a money sink and it's not a deterrent for newer users. Mayor requires a bit more effort, as it also requires more effort from the GA+

 

I also disagree. I feel that resident being a gateway rank should be easily accessible for all new users. Mayor should not be so easy, as the purpose of that is to reserve a piece of land and gives the ability to apply for staff, and if you're looking for a test of ability to find things, I feel that should be where it is.
