Minecraft Name: UnitedStates2 Suggestion: I have multiple suggestions to fix the EXP market, so here we go: Phase 1 - Cutting Supply: Remove EXP/EBooks and other junk from fishing and buff fish prices Fishing alone creates a large amount of EXP and enchanted junk which undercut the EXP market. The EXP created from fishing increases the supply of EXP which naturally lowers the price while the EBooks and Enchanted junk offer an alternative to the server's largest EXP dump; The EXP shop - By making these things rare, more and more players will only have the option to go to the EXP shop which in turns takes more EXP out. Now, in order to compensate the fishers who lose out from this change, I'm also suggesting to buff up fish prices some as well. And for those who say this will be "regressive", the poor don't fish. They mine. Only the rich who own star rods fish and they're really not in dire need of EXP. Phase 2 - Boosting Demand: Add more ways to spend EXP Here are the three ideas I'm laying out: - Have all items in the color shop cost EXP as opposed to ECD. - Have all the music discs, collectibles and spawn eggs in the star shop cost EXP. (Second floor stuff). - Have star armor and weapons cost EXP. A supply-side solution for EXP is quite useless without a demand one, hence why I'm proposing a demand side one as well. Firstly, let's start with the color shop which predominately sells wool. Wool is in low supply and there's a large amount of demand for it, so many players still go to the color shop to get their wool. By making wool in the color shop now cost EXP, you'll definitely increase demand for EXP as players will still want to buy wool. Secondly, the music discs, collectibles and spawn eggs. There's still plenty demand for these things, as players like their mobs and decorations. Making these purchasable via EXP will offer yet another EXP dump and increase demand for EXP. Finally, the star armor and weapons. These are only bought as collectibles and represent only a small minority of what people spend their nether stars on; People instead go for things with actual uses that make money, like eff7s and melon swords. Anyway, the rich who hoard tons of EXP need something to dump their EXP on; So give them this to dump it on. Reason: The community visibly wants a vibrant market. And if the community wants a vibrant EXP market, I really don't see why not. Not just that, but this will also expand the economy as more people are spending more money on EXP. Any Other Information: N/A Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: N/A
I agree with all this except for the part where you say Have all items in the color shop cost EXP as opposed to ECD. I go to the color shop all the time would be extremely annoying to pay with exp.
That's literally the point. You go to the color shop all the time, so we want you to buy more EXP so we can boost demand for it. You'll just have to keep a lot of EXP on you or buy it.
phase 3: server sell price for xp After the prices have more or less stabilized after this change (like 2-4 weeks after) impement a server sell price that's a bit lower than that. It will lead to people selling their XP to the server, which leads to less XP being inserted into the economy. While the tradeoff is actual money being inserted into the economy, it's better for newer players who aren't quite aware of what to do with XP. This is a bottom line, though. It's meant to keep XP from dropping to a point where it's worthless to gather, and introduces a valid way of making money. In turn this will increase popularity of the nether, because blaze spawners are an effective way of getting XP.
I would like to know more about this one: I'm wondering about this because shouldn't star armor and weapons cost nether stars? Please could you tell more about this?
I get what you are trying to do but i dont mine or anything so i like never have exp and . If we did this i would have to go to the market pay a lot of $$$ for exp if the price went up. Then go to the shop its just a extra annoying step that cost more just to buy stuff from the color shop so in my opinion -1 for this part.
Whats so bad about having low xp prices? Increasing xp prices would alter the entire face of ecc, fort3 picks would be much harder to get raising the price, making it harder for residents to make mayor. I dont know how I feel about raising exp price... I do like idea of sell hand exp though. Getting star armor Im not a fan of because itd lower nstar prices as SOME do buy the armor and adding nstars to market. To many dominoes falling to me.
Why do people think the problem with the EXP market is low prices? If nstars fell to $200 the market would most likely not be dead, but people would call it dead because the prices are low. People really need to pay attention to the true problem with EXP: lack of demand. We need to add something purchasable with EXP, such as Elytras (credit goes to Bashdash100).
The community visibly wants low EXP prices and this stimulates the economy, so why not? As far as your newer players argument goes, newer players rarely buy EXP; They're more likely to collect EXP themselves. And in my suggestion, I won't touch their primary source of EXP in any way or form: Mining. Literally nobody buys star armor though. You can at most only name a few people who have bought star armor - It's more of a collectible that used as a status symbol if anything. The nether star market really won't be hurt by it, and besides: Even if the price does fall a bit, what's wrong with reducing the gap between the rich and the poor and making star tools more affordable? I've already suggested solutions to effective stimulate demand in the suggestion...
I like having to save nether stars up to gain something, I think this could make people want to get these things more (I don't see them to be the most popular things in the star shop) for an achievement with exp but I'd rather have it a nether star achievement.
+1 My thoughts on ways of spending xP from another thread made by United about the same topic Spoiler As for a new way to spend your xp. Even though its sormething small, I would like to buy some of the Mob Eggs that you can buy currently for Netherstars but for EXP instead. I doubt many people will buy a Pig Egg from the store for 5 Nstars i think it is? Being the logic is you can go to someone who has them stockpiled and buy one from them. Instead that could simply earn one themselves working on the game. You say it will take people from voting for the site? Like i said earlier, i doubt someone will vote for 2 days to get themselves a Pig Egg, theyd rather vote for 2 days, sell there 8+ Nstars for 4k and then buy 4 Pig Eggs, or spend a Day Mining and Trade there EXP in for a Pig Egg and have 4k cash. Music Discs I would also suggest the same thing for Music Disc's, The Music Disc's cost a lot of Netherstars to purchase and yet the price of them is dirt cheap at the minute, yes because of the LWC unlock thing, but atm, people dont want to waste there NStars on something like this. I wonder when the last purchase of a Musc Disc fromt he store actually was? The prices of them should be changed and lowered down and also given the option to purchase them with EXP. You could make them cost like 15,000-20,000 EXP each? Thats around 10k atm and is roughly the same price as a Max Tool. You can also tier them as i think cat 11? is the most expensive one. You could make that one 60,000 EXP, around 30k atm to preserve the value of a set. And if you have the full set, the value of it will be around (9x20,000)+(1x60,000)+2 Default ones = 250,000 Still keeps the value of the set as i know you can probably buy a set currently for that much. So I think that would work tbh. Heads Also another thought is to be able to use the /skull command but use xp Wether and new command has to be implemented or wether they can bring back the bounty system and use /skull for a quick way to get heads or you can use a slightly cheaper method and spend EXP to use the 5 minute bounty method. You could cost it out at 5,000 ECD like the old system or slightly more being the skull system uses 10,000 ECD. Either way it would cost (With the current prices roughly): 5,000 ECD = 10,000 EXP 10,000 ECD = 20,000 EXP Either isnt really that steep, yes, 20,000 EXP is pretty expensive but I would totally use it if it was there to use. ---- Most of my suggestions are simply giving people the choice of spending ECD or EXP which isn't a bad thing. The only thing is it will to a point fix the price of EXP which is why I think you need to price out the conversion out ECD to EXP about what it is now. And then nerf the ways you get EXP so that it drives the value of EXP up because there isnt as much of it around. This would mean the current value of say FORT5 form the store, with is 5,000 EXP? Is currently 2.5k, would actually rise because the supply is harder and the demand will still be high with the new ways to spend it. ---- tl:dr: Give people choice to buy Mob Eggs, Music Discs, Heads with EXP at decent rates and the nerf ways of getting EXP to drive the value of it up because demand is there.
+1 It compiles the best of several suggestions I have seen. Hopefully, something actually happens with this one.
