Minecraft Name: knears2000 Suggestion: To not allow kits in any SG event ran by the server. Reason: First off, I have kits myself, so I'm not biased towards kits (cc++ and spy). Any way, it's not right to have these events and allow others to win for paying. It looks a lot like "pay2win", doesn't look all that good now does it? This is an event, everyone should have a fair chance at winning. During the build challenges, who had an advantage? No one because no one had paid for something in order to get an advantage. SG has already lost a bunch of players due to kits, now allowing them in events is just pushing more and more away. SG was never meant to be fair, but in events, it sure as hell should. +1. These events should be about being the most skilled sg player, not about spending the most money on kits.
Even with $230 in kits I think that no kits should be allowed in sg events. They are supposed to be tests of skill and determination not who can buy the most donations proceeding the event. It would also allow us to find hackers easier. 1+
Let's say in real life I participate in the Tour de France, and I use a ton of doping to win, would that be fair? I paid for it, surely I should get the advantage, right? And if you don't like people using doping, well don't participate in the Tour de France. That doesn't make much sense, does it? In any official tournament, competition or event there should be no pay2win advantages. Events are things people look forward to, events are fun. Why not make it fun for everyone instead of the people with buffer?
+1 love this idea Again, these are special events. There is no difference between the ban of illegal substances in real events I don't see the difference in a ban of potions and enchantment as well in this instance. Anyone who says "we" payed good money are just dependent on kits and need to realize this is a competition to see who has the most skills! Not the most money! This suggestion goes out personally to players who say this will take money away from the server and who say "buy kits then". Players buy kits to win, 363ish days out of the year is plenty of time to earn your money back or make more. Personally I think it would interesting to have builders and residents who haven't donated yet be able to participate without being completely over run in seconds. Who knows ranks don't mean skill i would like to see a fair environment just on these special occasions.
See, I 100% agree with this post and the suggestion. But, Revan holds these events for the sole purpose of people donating a lot more to the server. As soon as the event was announced last week, I saw a huge spark in people buying donation features. Its the ONLY reason revan and Kh hold these types of events. Its stupid in my opinion.
+1 However, I don't think it would be necessary to make all competitions all no-kit; maybe do one kit and one no kit? IDK, but the backlash from the major kitters may be too much for all competitions. If it is for a few, I wouldn't care at all. Overall, still in support of the no kit games. No one really knows who the truely best SG players are, and these competitions will allow some people who you may not see as threats with kits to be threats without them.
He never said anyone was. I think he feels like it, but is thinking of other users and trying to make it fair for everyone. And to prove I am not biased I have CC++, BFR+, and SPY. I know events are a big thing and that users want to win, but why not make it fun in the meantime?
I challenge you to find one person on the top 50 of the sg cup leaderboards that doesn't have kits. More than that, Who doesn't have buffer. If you charted the $$$ donations and position on sg leaderboards, there would he a huge concentration of high donators of sg kits in the first slots. We don't even need sg leaderboards anymore. They tell us what we already know. Kitters win. Buffer wins.
'Tis true, I completely agree with you, but not to stump you, after endless days and nights playing SG (mostly killing builders) i did get to the top 50 without kits. It is possible, but it was not very fun.
That is exactly right. The highest no-kitter I believe was @matthew_gruber in 55ish place or something...all users on the first page had kits, and I believe only 2-3 or less didn't have buffer. To go with Fury's point, I slogged away at SG for ages without kits and was gifted my first kit a week ago. It really isn't easy. I think over the time I played SG, I have won 5 games of 24 without kits. Others likely feel the same way. To make a short comment, SG is possible without kits, but nearing the impossible. Just one day out of 365 will truly show who can play without a paid advantage.
You're all forgetting on very important thing. If someone wants to be the best at SG, then they need kits. When they need kits the donate to the server. Donations are good.
U don't seem to understand the point of the suggestion. This suggestion never said donations are a bad thing. Also frankly u can be the best in SG if u want to buy kits sure that's not debatable. However if your going to hold an SG competition that's completely one sided for kits just label it "Kits SG Competition" so players know what the competition is really about. If you want it to be a an actual SG competition everyone needs to have a fair advantage. Just like ANY other competition in real life. Saying donations are good for the server is completely true. But hiding behind that as a counter is simply invalid if you can't make money back out of the 363 days of the year the SG competition is going one let's face it your not going to win anyways lol. 2 days out of the year is completely justified if you believe in fair competition. In a competition it's who has the most skills not the most money.
