In the 25 or so people that voted/replied +1, I believe there are only 3-4 people who don't have kits. Just throwing that out there. That's about 15% of the people who voted yes that have no kits.
That leaves 85%. Therefore, almost everyone voted yes has at least one kit, and I would suspect many of us have $50 or more. I know one person who voted yes to something like this has $300+. So, your response should be quite the contrary; most people replying here HAVE kits.
Not trying to be mean or flame at all. I just figured I would share the numbers as it seems inconsistent with your statement here. -
Guys.... Y'all are saying "Oh most of the people replying have kits" this is true, but they probably only have ccp.... (I'm not saying that they don't have a chance at winning, but it's not very likely.)
-
Umm... well. The number of non-kitters is usually always greater than kitters. Plus, there's more than two categories. You can't just say kitter, and non-kitter. Using only cc is very different from using the 6 kits I use. Sure, cc is good against non kitters. But to be honest, cc isn't gonna help much when you have people like me chasing after you with bfr ._. I don't like sg how it is atm, but I also don't like this suggestion. We need a more intermediary approach.

Honestly, I think the odds should be changed to either 3/8 or 4/8 to make it more likely for a kit free, because in the summer we get waves of new players meaning that we'd have TONS of kit frees all summer long.

-1. I payed for my kits and the 1/8 chance of a no kit match pisses me off enough. Just get rid of buffer and there's no need for this suggestion.

You know what I'd do with survival games? Not play here! If there's another server out there with a better community with survival games, I ain't gonna sit back and play with a bunch of pay to winners. If you just play elsewhere, it means this server can't make any money. This also means that they will have to start making some changes to survival games to rack in the dough.
-
Umm... here's the thing. Kit's don't exist so we can "rack in the dough". We are self sufficient. That's all. We are hosted by some of the best people, and have some of the best developers, protection, and systems. You know, all of that costs money. It doesn't just magically appear. Also, we want to remove/change kits. Jakey and Phys have both expressed this to some degree. In the TS interview... they stated that they simply can't do too much about it atm due to legal issues. Yes, that's right. There's legal issues involved. The last thing that we want as a server is a lawsuit. And I would caution at discussing other servers, as it is against the rules. Just a heads up, that's all (I'm not even sure you broke a rule, just a friendly reminder :) )

"Legal Issues"?
There was no fine print at all? Absolutely none? I find that surprising that there was nothing protecting the server. Just in case ya'll haven't read the fine print, here is what is within it;
7. You understand that there may be times where you experience issues and temporary outages in using the special features that you have purchased, and that in some cases, due to the nature of Minecraft multiplayer updating frequently, there may be points in time where features break and need to be removed entirely. In the event that a feature needs to be removed entirely, you understand that you will not receive a refund for that feature, but instead, EcoCityCraft will provide you with gift credits in the equivalency of the amount the feature was purchased for.
Yes, your kits can be removed for a refund.
Kits do exist to get money. They ain't there for hoohas.
