    Minecraft Name: legotom001

Suggestion: /smeltlight (or something like that I am not the best name giver)

Reason: bc cook pots are now removed and now players who don't have donations have to use furnaces, with this idea you would (at lest this is what I thought of, could be modified) be able to smelt 64 items but it would take 30 seconds and have a 10 min cool down time.

Any Other Information: I have seen players ig dislike the change and I think this would still keep performance up and make players happy.

Link To This Plugin: n/a (idk if you used one for the /smelt and /smelt all but I would think it is somehow usable in the same meaner [not the best at computers and code so sorry if this is not possible])

I don't like removing the cooking pots and thats the final drop that made me leave ECC (maybe forever).

It helped boost performance on the server? I don't understand why you left over cook pots.

    1. I never had problems with the performance.
    2. I did not leave just because of the cook pots. There are a 1000 reasons for me to leave but this was the last drop.

    1. It effected your fellow players. Perhaps think about others than just yourself.
    2. Thats a shame.

I can only speak out of personal experience and I havent seen my "fellow" players talking about lag issues so the performance was not that terrible to start with.

I understand the lag thing, i just am not a fan of the whole "Use a furnace and hope it cooks within the next 20 mins" lol. And i cant afford to pay people to do it all the time (that is, if none of my friends are on to do it for me :p )
So instead of getting cookpots back, or addin a lite version of the command for everyone, can I suggest to make it a town feature, like a heal sign? It would cost about as much as a heal sign or something and could smelt things as the command does, except youre not dependent on others. Hopefully that would be less laggy, and there may be a cooldown for it? Like 1 stack a minute, therefore making the command /smelt faster and more efficient, yet for us without Ext. Crea. + we could still have an option quicker than furnaces.
Those are just my thoughts, obviously there are going to be flaws with it. But other than that, I like being much less laggy :)

I am Pro Removal of Cookpots,

Everyone has become so lazy...its not like cookpots have been around forever and its been takien away and leaving nothing there, people are so impatient these days :p

    a. It will increase Coal usage which before was actually useless, also increases Glass, Brick, Stone, Hardened Clay etc which maybe rise in price.
    b. Increases the usage of McMMO ablity smelting (which increases efficiency of smelting in furnaces, which didnt effect cookpots before)
    c. If you have Pyro, you can use that in the furnace instad of the coal.
    d. Increases community interaction, (by that i mean people dont just throw stuff in a cookpot, wait a minute and then tp off again. They might stay and go and farm or organise their chests or chat in local/global for 5 minutes while waiting for their stuff)

Loads of people complained about lag, we remove the thing that was creating a lot of lag, and people moan...
Im bummed about not being able to instantly get glass, stone, brick anymore but hey ho, prices of those will hopefully go up and make gathering things worth doing.

That is why I think a light version of /smelt is reasonable, even if it takes 10 seconds and has a 10 min cool down.

Furnaces are the base model that we always had, lag caused the "easier / faster" way to be removed.

I, for one, applaud our New Smelting Overlords ;)

I say keep it as it is (right now), without a "smelt lite"

I saw andrews post and all I got are numbers that mean nothing to me because I never had any lag issues and if its a problem with the server I should have because my internet provider is... lets say less than good anyway. I think that removing the furnaces is a stupid move because now I have to either buy the feature, pay someone to smelt for me or use furnaces that take too long and they need fuel that I have to buy/mine. Its a step backwards and thats it.

Yeah but it lasted forever and you could just ask someone with pyro to refuel them and most of the people did it for free or it was dirt cheap.

I was planning to leave for some time now and this change just made me do it. Its not so much about the cooking pots being removed but the way it was done and the way it was handled.

I understand what you are saying and sometimes things happen that we don't agree with - that is unfortunately life, and especially a game.
As for the way it was handled, there are times that a server owner (or boss, or politician, or parent) make decisions on what they feel is best for everyone involved. Try to think of their perspective, there are times that whatever you choose, it will be loved by some and hated by others and they will always be second guessed.
It is true that there will be some that may leave because of this situation and that is a shame. That said, how many more will now stay, or want to play here with the lag reduced?
