Rough guidelines and plans, yes. Exact and all details, no. Nothing will be final or stable for a while. That is how it always work with large transitions like this.

People know quite a bit if they stay calm, patient, and keep up with news/Twitter/posts/etc.

For an outlined plan, it will take a couple of days to confirm a rough idea. Then, it will take a day or two to put together a large news post describing it clearly (so that people do not mis-read and get confused). It's barely been a day or two - people just need to be patient. Putting pressure on Administration will only make things worse and/or sloppy and confusing.

 

Telling them causes stress. As well, who knows if the owner is permanent right now or not. I'm guessing they are, but in reality, if they were not... That person does not need a bad trail on their back for the rest of their life on the Internet or IRL. (Remember, ECC is tied to money and legal stuff. This isn't a house-run, tiny server.)

 

The identity of the Owner doesn't really matter. I feel people just want to know a general idea of what is going on.

 

It would be quite easy to be patient for someone that knows what is going on. All we need is a small amount of info, as this is getting out of hand for the whole server. If we want to treat this like it's a small deal, then so be it. But I feel the transition of owners on the server should be taken somewhat seriously and the community should be informed.

Edit: I'm not saying we need to know who the server owner is, I'm just saying, as others before me have, that we need a rough outline of what is going on.

 

The lack of information we've received has now shed it's light on me.

For months, I have supported the server with money, and the community with me well being. We are now going through a transition, something that happens a lot. But what happened right before this transition? A massive troll on the whole server. It causes panic. Yet, it was done by the owner himself. Why would the server owner tear apart the people? No matter his intentions, it is frightening to me the path we're now on. I don't see a future for this server much longer, and I know this will break some hearts. Call me mentally weak, a quitter, whatever you want.

I'm just another one who's been dangerously affected by yet choices of our owner.

 

I agree, it would have been much easier if the staff had said what was going to happen. That way we all wouldn't have panic.

As Iticip and all of us, I'm afraid of the future of the server and I think as we have supported this server we, at least, deserve an explanation

Can we put it any better than this?
I love ECC, but as it moves on, it's starting to fall apart into pieces. I love this server, but am very disappointed in some of the actions made by our OLD server owner.. after 3.5 YEARS he's ready for a break.. and that's understandable. If we all just keep calm, and stop spamming the General Discussion with threads such as "Where's andrewkm" , things will be okay! Most staff members don't know as well, so spamming them won't help either. They know as much as we do!
Who ever is the new owner, will be great! :)
