Minecraft Name: BackToThePastSuggestion: Upon a user being inactive for a certain amount of time (e.g 6 months), make an application to have the user's /owned items unowned.Reason: If you get a tool from a LWC and it is /owned, you cannot really do much with it, it still belongs to the /owned user. Whether the user has been inactive or not, they could return any time and demand for their tool back, and of course, they'll get it back. If a user has been inactive for a certain amount of time, we should be allowed to put in some type of application that allows us to /unown the users /owned item. Something like 6 months+ would be a good amount of time because we do the same thing for our towns.Any Other Information: N/ALink To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: N/A
+1; maybe not 6 months? If you LWC the chest, you own the items. Providing a link to the LWC that was successful, the ownership can be removed.
-1 wouldn't want to be taking a break from ECC and lose all my star tools wonderful idea though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm actually kinda edgy on this. I have a problem with people claiming towns just to LWC star tools. And after all, LWCs aren't meant for getting tools. They're meant to clear out space from the town. And I like many other people, prefer not to lose valuable items/tools, as we worked very hard for these items. And when someone comes and LWCs a chest full of star tools (That are yours) you must be pretty angry, as you worked really hard to for them, and then seeing someone who really didn't work enough get a star tool. As I've said many times before, LWC's aren't meant for claiming/taking items, they're meant for making room for a town. I'm not "Entitled" to the contents in a chest, as they are not mine. For those reasons, -1
Agreeing with united, this would make the claiming of towns just to lwc items more viable which is the exact opposite of what we need.
I understand where you two are coming from, but when I mean inactivity, I do not mean solely lwcs. For example, if I have a /owned tool that has been /owned by a user whom has been inactive for nearly 6 months+ or even more, whom also having no intentions of returning, I have this tool that I can nearly do nothing with.
Lock removals aren't for steeling people's items :/ The only reason I support this is because it might cause confusion once the player returns, and someone else has their /own'd items... But if it's about keeping someone's items from a chest, then no, shoo.
Yes, however we shouldn't be encouraging players claiming towns for star tools, which already happens a lot. And who knows? Maybe they will return. After all, a lot of players play on the summer and then quit for the school year. The summer only lasts for 3 months. You could easily be inactive for 6 months through those 9 months, and then return for the summer to see that someone else claimed your town and LWC'd your tools.
What happens if after 6+ months/own change, the tools original owner comes to us saying it was stolen from them? Would we need to do 100% thorough log dives prior to every change to make sure the tool presented was obtained by the applicant legally?
That's why this /own doesn't work in the long run as it will cause too many problems. It should go back to where people had the risk of losing tools, just as people have the risk of getting scammed money.
