Relax rules on politics, somewhat allowing discussion of it as long as it doesn't turn into a heated discussion. Social issues would be obviously off limits, but other issues such as the economic and foreign policy ones would have rules relaxed on. @knears2000 @Dccciz @oxwood2 @billytl
Personally I just don't see why a Minecraft server would be a place to discuss politics. If you really want to, just use the notforstaff party chat and discuss it there. There's a time and a place for certain things and a server that is supposed to be family-friendly is not really the appropriate place to have political discussions. I know you don't talk about it to get people mad, but some people are quite sensitive about politics unfortunately.

Well, let's boil it down to discussions that often come paired with arguments (which tend to get heated), and regular chatter. The first one is what we generally tend to avoid, or even ban. (politics, religion, etc) The second one is what we generally actually see in global. And this is a minecraft server, not a place for arguments, debates or heated discussions. Things like those should be kept either in private, or in places where everyone has discussions like that. I doubt many in global would want to see socioeconomic discussions over silly stuff. I know I wouldn't want to.

+1 Today I mentioned the republican debate, and that Trump is a funny guy. A mod said not to discuss politics. Stuff like what I just said should be fine BUT saying "Vote for Carson" in chat or "What did you guys think of Clintons speech?" should not be allowed.
Can't I say the same about sports then? It's completely unrelated to a minecraft server, and it can often cause heated debates and arguments. Remember the 2015 superbowl? Oh boy a lot of things happened in global that day. People enjoy talking about other things that aren't minecraft related. Yes, it can cause debates and such, but can't anything??? I can even have a heated argument about mc also, as ridiculous as that sounds.
