{ Minecraft Name: UnitedStates2002 Suggestion: So, basically I'm suggesting to get the ClientPermissions Plugin as per kuke's post: You can BLOCK AUTOFISHERS! As per the plugin the description, you can also control/block the most widely used and effective autofishing mod on ECC too: And it doesn't stop there either . You can also disable the KEY command and such, to completely BLOCK AUTOFARMING via macros too! Just as you can disable the ECHO command, you're able to disable the KEY command too. Oh yes, we can also BLOCK THE VOXELMAP MOD too as per kukelekuuk00's post: Any Other Information: N/A Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/clientpermissions/pages/main/commands/ All credit goes to @kukelekuuk00 for coming up with this idea.
-1, I like macro mod and I like the echo command. I don't think other players should be banned from using something just because some people cheat.
Blocking ECHO command is to handle the constant spam in the trade channel. Want to advertise? Put some effort in it. Might I also add, the amount of AFK macro advertisers is huge too.
How is that a better solution than simply asking players to change the amount or frequency in which they advertise? You're also blocking out all kinds of other things which people use and there is no issue with.
I guess you do have a point here, I'll be taking that out of my suggestion. However, I will still stand by the other suggested changes - I see no reason to oppose blocking autofishing, autofarming, autoclicking and the VoxelMap.
Macromod as intended to be an admin utility, lol. Anyway. The only reason trade chat is like it is now is because people can post in trade chat without spending any time on it whatsoever. They could be mining and it would be automatic, they could be farming and it would be automatic, they could just be AFK and it would still post in trade. By allowing ECHO you are allowing people to automate posting in chat, which in turn causes a large amount of spam in trade chat. If you want to combat this spam you have 3 viable options. Limit it to 1 message every 5 minutes. Limit it to 2 messages every 10 minutes. Block ECHO. Any of these need to be implemented. Because trade chat is really bad right now. I'm personally in favour of blocking ECHO, because it would solve the core of the problem. 1 and 2 are only bandaids, if/when we'll have more users on ECC then obviously the problem will get worse, and thus loop back to this suggestion. only 3 actually solves the problem.
This. I removed the Echo part given how many users use it, but we must remember, that if we're serious about combatting spam in the trade channel, we must disable ECHO. Disabling ECHO is really the only viable solution that can work in the long run and limit trade spam.
