I'm genuinely not trolling, i actually want to know why...

I suggest rephrasing your question, then. As you are doing it now is akin to trolling. -
Intellectualist BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️
I have to disagree with this suggestion. I don't really see people tagging other people without them actually being needed...can you link some examples of this?
And also, it's really the person your tagging that this really affects. I'd hate to tag someone, get excessively warned for it, and then have the guy I tagged not care. -
Being tagged because someone wants to start something? Be the mature one and ignore it. Do not respond to the tag or them. It is not very hard.
Being tagged and the post has bad content that actually breaks the rules? Use the Report feature, or prod a Staff member in-game. Do not continue it and make it break more rules, and get yourself in trouble, too.
If you do not want to see alerts of people tagging you, you can turn them off. If you don't want all tagging notifications turned off, then ignore the tags that you don't like, or let users know you won't see tag notifications and that they should PM you instead.

tagging a person for the sole reason and telling them you arent allowed to participate in this discussion violates rules 1 and 3
1. There is to be no flaming, raging, insulting, or disrespecting of other members. This includes attempting to prod a user into starting an argument with you or others, as well as just plainly attacking them.
3. There is to be no spamming with @ tags in posts. Only tag/mention someone using the @ tag if they are seriously needed in the thread.
there is no compelling reason to start a thread and tag people telling them "you can't play here go away"
thats flaming off the bat with a tag that doesn't need to be there.
I haven't seen this rebuttal addressed by staff.
All i've seen is
"just ignore it"
"turn off notifications"
and those arguments miss the point completely -

Ah, I see your point dork, your talking about people who tag specifically to cause problems. And your bringing up this issue because staff don't do anything to handle it?
Can you provide an example? I have yet to see any tagging just for malicious purposes. -
Intellectualist BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️Come on dork, just show me a link, no need to be sarcastic

im serious bro
if you want examples you will need to get them from someone else.
im not violating the terms of my parole.
my parole officer will have my huevos in a vice. -
1: It would be up to the OP to report someone for trying to start a flame/rage war, or if being overly insulting. That's WHY the report button is even there. Also, if it's not your thread, try to avoid unnecessary reporting.
3: One single tag of a user is not spamming them. And, if they truly need to know about what is in the thread, even if they are requested not to post on it, then no forum rules are being broken. -
This includes attempting to prod a user into starting an argument with you or others, as well as just plainly attacking them. tag was only used to prod me into an argument since i had previously asked to be untagged in the companion locked thread
Only tag/mention someone using the @ tag if they are seriously needed in the thread. tag was not needed, i didn't NEED to know I wasn't allowed to participate. if i had filled out an app then at that point i could have been told "no"
it wasn't my thread, i was tagged and asked for it to be removed and i'm pretty sure these rules can justify my request -
This is the situation you have been asked to drop already, more than once. The situation in which you were tagged as been reviewed by staff and it was deemed that no rules were broken. Bring it up again, against staff advisement, and there will be consequences. This matter is closed. -
Intellectualist BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️Then I'm sorry to say I disagree with this suggestion, I've seen no evidence of it.
-
This is very in my opinion stubborn of you, you've seen what dork said, examples of stuff like this are not to be talked about so you must find them for yourself. As for the suggestion i don't see it as one it should be enforced already it's in the rules. This is should be getting enforced already, by tagging them its a come look at my thread again and see what I've said to you but don't respond. There really is no saying no to this because its implemented it's more like a reminder. Just to clarify i'm not saying mods are doing there jobs wrong blah blah blah just saying that this is against the rules and it should be enforced if possible.

Intellectualist BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️Examples of this must not be talked about? What are you talking about :p? I've always understood that in a purely suggestion/discussion/debate sense that quoting other people (as long as you don't mean to point fingers) is perfectly allowed.
And I believe it is a perfectly valid reason that if I have seen ZERO examples of this, then it's not being stubborn, it's being truthful. -
Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it can't exist is being stubborn and dork was unable to talk about it which is completely respectable so if you really want to criticize this you need to do some research.
-
Intellectualist BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️I can easily make a suggestion that we need to get rid of giant pink elephants, but unless I show you some screenshots of giant pink elephants, your not going to believe me.
So unless someone (anyone) shows me an example of this, can I tell you, I have seen ZERO examples of this, and I use the forums a very large amount, as you might be able to tell by my post count. -
Perhaps PMing him to give him your example would be better than an inflammatory comment like this. Just because your case was deemed within the rules by Staff, doesn't mean that others won't be.
