Make it possible to donate USD, without buying features. Some people may have all the features they want, or simply just want to donate money without anything in return. It doesn't have to count towards medals.

I can't -1 this idea because there would be no harm in allowing the option and it wouldn't affect anyone negatively it was added.
So... +1, just to even allow the option seems fair.
Not sure if someone would complain later on saying "Well I donated before for nothing, but it should be applied to this new super-cool awesometacular feature." But as long as it always "No." - I'm good. -

Yeah, I don't see a problem with this. And it would help for people who want to donate for nothing. I mean donating for ECD honestly can hurt the economy in the long run because you are essentially spawning money. I see no problem with this +1.

Allowing donations for nothing can lead to possible legal complications, at least from my understanding of donations... Donating without reward (i.e., real donating) would be a charity or other, and charities/others usually need tracked/saved/reported/etc depending on their environment and how it is being done (for example, we aren't providing a service at all, unlike plugin and mod developers). At least, that is my understanding of it all... So, in the case of true and real donating, I'm -1, simply to avoid making things complicated on the receiving (ECC) end.
