Maybe a rank only one person can have at a time, so everyone would know they are the best. However, each time someone applies for this rank, the cost increases. Once someone purchases the rank for the higher price, you will just result to your previous rank of EcoLegend.

For Example:

1st person to buy - $5.5 million
2nd person - $6 million
3rd person - $6.5 million
so on and so forth...

Yes, it's a lot of money. It's just one more thing to always strive for, to show you're the best and atop of the community financially.
Maybe you will get a forum medal once you buy the rank (even if you lose the rank) to show that you had it at one point.

Just a random thought. Haven't really thought out all the details.

Make it a different color, no orange anywhere in the name.

 

That would mean I would spend 5 million, just to lose it later on...that makes no sense.

 

Obviously it wouldn't be for everyone, only the rich.

Another idea is putting as much money as you want toward the rank, almost as an auction. Let's say someone wants to save up 10 million, they could buy for 10 million but for someone to take that rank they would have to out bid your current rank by X amount of money (whatever that may be). Once you have EcoLegend (you most likely have every star tool), what else do you have to spend money on or strive for... this is just an outlet for those few people who are to that point in the server.

Plus, as I stated in the message of mine that you quoted. I haven't really thought about all the details so no need to criticize an idea that may not be to your liking. It may not make sense to you, but to other people it does.
