The Cult of the Tree is a minecraft religion revolving around the sacredness of trees. Trees are the most important aspect of minecraft, without trees, there is no wood, and without wood, you cannot build tools, chests, workbenches, beds... Basically the most important and basic items of minecraft. Followers of the Tree recognize this, and offer deference and respect to the trees which makes all the rest of minecraftia possible.

Trees make the mine and craft both possible in Minecraft.

Founders and Missionaries, Kyle13h and Lilypetals (myself,) intend to spread the religion, and one day there will be a small temple in every town, on many minecraft servers. To do this, they intend to build a giant main temple, a practical Vatican of The Cult of the Tree. The Temple will be within a 200x200 region of rainforest biome entitled "cultoftree" purchased when Lilypetals became mayor rank.

Founder Lilypetals is in charge primarily of funding the large build, slaving away in the melon farms, buying the mass amounts of stone that will be needed for the project, and providing the tools necessary for the build.

Founder Kyle13h is in charge primarily of the large part of the building of the project. Taking measurements, turning ideas into reality at dangerous heights.

Both founders are responsible for the idea making process.

Missionary Mardigan_the_Mad has now joined the Cult of the Tree (10/17/12) His support for the vision and ultimate goals of the Cult of the Tree was happily accepted. The Cult of the tree is growing and becoming more well known! ( More information )

We will now provide a few pictures of the work in process of the Temple. It's coming along quickly.

So now you might be thinking, "Okay, that's an interesting build an all, but what's the point of this minecraft religion, will you actually do anything?" The answer is yes! Of course! We have many great things in mind! First, we want to start a building revolution, A Temple or Shrine of the Tree in every town! We will list the towns that have these builds, and the x,y,z coordinates of the temple or shrine. Next, we plan on hosting events, contests, and various fun things for all the members of this server. We will host raffles, giveaways, maybe we'll turn the whole temple into a PVP area for a week. Why would we do this? Because we're non-profit! All we want is to spread the Cult of the Tree, and make fun and cool things for the members of this server.

Now, those of you who are thinking, "Great! Sign me up! What can I do to?" Excellent, thank you so much for your support, here's what you can do! Right now, we need three things. Money, the temple is going to be expensive to build, Cobblestone, so much stone, and publicity! So, if you have the spare money, feel free to donate to us, it comes with perks! A note on donation though, only do it if you really have spare money. We need the money, but if you need it, then keep it! There are other ways to help! If you're a miner, you could keep the stone you mine, not selling it to the server, to donate or sell to us. We go through stone very quickly making this build and we need all the stone we can get our hands on. You don't mine either? No problem! We still can desperately use your help telling others about this! Link them to this thread, tell them about it, and tell them to tell others!

Finally you might be thinking, "Okay, I've supported the creation of our temple, is that all there is to do?" Well, no. The Cult of the Tree highly approves of and wishes to support charities like Freecycle. ( Freecycle thread ) Give back to the ECC community what you can spare, we will highly appreciate it, and so will they.

Abandoned projects?! Do missionaries ever give up?! The Knowledge must be spread! Turn over a new leaf and donate to The Cult of the Tree!

Seriously though. This isn't going to be abandoned, We've built this much in just a few days. The only thing slowing us down is lack of cobblestone right now.
