Post here the most weird thing you've ever eaten! Possibly with a picture (but not necessarily). I'll start with a smoked eel pie (no pics, sorry) that was served at a wedding in Belgium. It was disgusting. It tasted like a rotten raw fish that had been used as an ashtray. Note: it doesn't necessarily have to be disgusting. Actually, it could even be very tasty, but in a weird way. Mine was just a kick-off.
Technically, yes: However, I will be magnanimous and will accept instances where the food has not been eaten as well, at the condition that you have to beg mercy and that you will be subjected to friendly mocking from others in this thread (after all, it's an off-topic, so let's make a bit of fun out of ourselves).
A durian desert was a disappointment. I was expecting something really offensive and it was just ice cream with a mild taste of socks. I've had large African snails in London and horse in France. I couldn't get a local takeaway to sell me the chicken feet they had on the menu
I ate snails once, though not large african ones. I can't remember how those tasted at all, I was very young. But I recall seeing them roaming in a giant pot full of flour, we kept them there for days cause they had to clean out their guts. @secretlondon, your disappointed "offensive" expectations on the durian dessert made me laugh hard
Soft plantains, they felt like slime in my mouth and ever since then, when grandma isn't looking, I bury them at the bottom of the trash can
maybe it was just a single day, I was very young and my perception of time could have been somewhat dilated
Though not technecly a food, it is two "food" items combined... Popcorn and a candycane. (Under my own free will.) It would be that or pizza with corn on it. Both are actualy quite good.
Wut?! Nutella is life Umm Im sure I've had weirder and more uncommon meals, but the only thing that comes to mind is the Fried Alligator that I had once. To be honest it was really good. It was cut up almost into like mini-chicken nugget sized pieces and it tasted just like chicken just slightly more fishy (which I love seafood so I don't mind). I had it in Texas (go figure lol).
It's called Escargot. I love it . I'm at dinner ATM and I'm getting ready to have 'em Edit: Mmm just ate em, tasted good here is a pic before I ate it. Sorry it is kinda dark.
