Disclaimer
This is the only Minecraft server I have ever been on. It's been 6 months now, about. Admittedly, I have trifled with a few others, unsuccessfully, and only while we were on a break (i.e. while being banned). And, for the record, I would like to re-swear my allegiance to ECC.

The Imperative
The curious cat in me, without prior intent or malice, wonders by what criteria we can call ourselves the #1 Major Economy

I'm not implying that we are or aren't, but it would be cool to be able to explain my enthusiasm for the server to other people, and I am only now, in exile, realizing that there are like a gazillion other servers out there, with all kinds of weird Minecraf-ty things I don't yet understand. And I don't want any of them. I just want ECC. And I'm trying to understand why.

The Essential Question
What makes our ECC so dear to us? Why is it the #1 Major Economy? Are the two related or totally on different planes? Are there metrics for love? It can be emotional, or data-driven, or based on philosophy or history or some combination of all of these.
