Clause 2 - Claiming and Zoning Laws There is no unofficial land claiming. The only way to claim land is to apply for a protected town/nation by applying for a town with a Mayor, President or Additional Town application, dependent on your rank. When placing a town, you must be at least 15 blocks away from any other town on all sides of your town The exception to this is if you receive a neighbouring town owner’s permission by means of them posting in your application thread, in which case you may place your towns within 15 blocks of their town. You must receive permission from every town owner that you are within 15 blocks of. The town owner giving permission must be the applicant owner of the town. Failure to abide by the zoning laws will result in your application being denied, as well as the possibility of you being fined. Searching the rules/other wiki this was the closest rule I could find in regards to doing a town move. Notice it does not say anything about how long a user must be offline/inactive for. I know there is a timeline of 6 months for a town claim but there is nothing specific I could find about doing a town move. I would like some clarification on this, maybe some new ideas also. The reason I bring this up is I need to do a town move. I currently have a new town I had to place 15blocks away from my existing town, and the new town being 15 blocks away does not work for me at all. Im co owner of the town that has caused me this issue as the owner is inactive, this user was inactive for almost 6 months before he dropped back in, then he was gone and has been for 2+ months, he did not answer my forum request or forum pm to get his permission to do this town move. I should also mention his town is not developed at all. This is not okay with me at all as its been close to 8 months with no resolve to my issue. I would like to see the rules updated with other options other than hoping the person becomes active or stays inactive for 6 months, and then decides to come back on for a minute then disappear again making you wait another 6 months with the hopes they dont decide to log in then go inactive again. Hope this makes sense to everyone
I do understand your frustration, however, the server has these rules to protect all players. As this is a game, 6 months is not that long, though it can feel like forever. I personally had to wait a year and a half to claim a town I have owned for two years - he kept showing up every five and a half months and never did respond to my in game mail or forum pm. That is the players right and should be respected. Imagine you are on deployment and only have a family member available to log in and protect your hard earned assets. They would probably not respond as they may not know your wishes.
Here are the rules for town moves. RULES* You must be the official owner of this town. (Purchased from server, officially claimed, etc) Your new area cannot overlap another town in any way what-so-ever. There can be no one on the members list of the town, and there must only be one owner at the time of the move. All town members must be legally evicted or properly publicly notified via a town thread that they will lose permissions temporarily to their town during the move. Be sure to read rules on doing this. You can only move your town 100 blocks in any direction - on the same map of course. (Map changes are not allowed) If it is over 100 blocks simply apply for another town as your move will be denied and you will be fined. Your town move must not have any selfish/malicious reasons behind it. The consequences of this will be severe and handled by the highest level staff personally. All in all stay courteous and professional throughout this move process with all current remaining members of the town as well as everyone else involved. Once again the consequences of not doing so will be severe. (PermaBan/Account wipe/etc) We are very serious/strict with this.
So if I read these rules correctly - a town can be moved next to any town without any permission required at all?
Those are specific to Town Moves. Zoning laws are covered in a different blurb about the app. They still apply as they do to every town.
Thank you for that information. That is what I thought, but it really does not say anywhere in what Fizz posted that zoning laws are also in effect and that is what had me confused. Not to mention I am an old man and my brain does not work as well as it used to
