You should not put your trade sign on anything that moves. This includes, but may not be limited to: ext command doors, gates, as well as sand blocks and gravel blocks that may fall when the block below them is placed.

Sand blocks don't break the trade sign, it makes for a cool ghost block when the sand us updated to falling sand. Unless the chunk gets reloaded, then it becomes a floating sand block.
