Once you fall into the RUINS, You meet Flowey. F-L-O-W-E Probably explains it. Yup. Flowey is a flower. He greets you and says stuff about collecting LV (Love) in fights. He says they're shared in white "friendliness pellets" So you collect the pellets and your HP Goes from 20 to 1. Flowey then has an evil look on his face and says "You idiot. In this world, it's kill or be killed. DIE."

That's all I'm gonna say. Find out more by playing the game yourself! After you start playing, you can't stop. No, seriously, you can't.

BTW, They sometimes capitalize determination.
