With the release of Minecraft 1.21.6, the locatorBar gamerule is now active by default and displays a new directional UI element. This bar currently appears in VMR, which contradicts the server’s goal of delivering a pure, vanilla-style experience. Request: Please run the following command in the VMR world to disable this feature: Code: /gamerule locatorBar False Reasoning: Breaks the vanilla feel of VMR, introducing a non-essential UI element. Could be exploited to track or locate other players if objectives or points are ever linked to the bar undermining the fairness of exploration and potential PvP/raiding. Not part of traditional VMR gameplay, and provides no meaningful benefit unless someone intentionally wants to track others, which opens the door for abuse.
Could be exploited to track or locate other players if objectives or points are ever linked to the bar undermining the fairness of exploration and potential PvP/raiding. This type of location can be done with regular math in less than a minute by moving just a few blocks in one direction. Very bad for VMR style gameplay as many know it.
Well, it is a vanilla staple of Minecraft now, which I do hate btw. I could see this as a new challenge for VMR & make aspects like sneaking & invisibility potions more crucial. However, I agree that this "challenge" will bring more headache and discouragement. I do feel like this should be an urgent suggestion vs a bug, so if it wasn't done already, I would file a suggestion
It has been suggested as well. Decided to link here for future use/comments https://ecocitycraft.com/forum/thre...ion-turn-off-minecraft-friend-locator.228165/
