Accused Username: CrezariusComplaint: This user has set up a bait-and-switch (scamming) trade sign at station 74.This trade sign, which the user has labeled as buying Netherstars for 520$, is actually buying them at a price of 500$.Evidence: Additional Information: According to the trade sign's amount of netherstars bought, it appears as if the user has already bait-and-switched 8 nether stars off of people with this sign, and I sold the user 1 nether star thinking I was going to receive 520$ for it.
He clearly just forget to update the sign. In any event, it's still your fault for not actually reading what the trade sign was advertising.
Posted anyways just to warn other users, just in case.Could'nt he have just updated the other sign as well?
"He clearly just forget to update the sign. In any event, it's still your fault for not actually reading what the trade sign was advertising. " That is exactly the case. I hardly doubt making an extra $20 that way will pay off long term on the server. People remember these things and return customers will not come back to a dishonest store. Secondly, this is my first complaint in over 3 years and the first instance of this while running my store since Sept of 2014. That should also go to show I have no ill intent behind my actions. Remember people are human. We make mistakes. I will contemplate just removing the signs incase I make this mistake in the future. Also, most of us can be quite reasonable. Don't hesitate to simply ask ingame about it instead of making my first complaint against me in over 3 years. We could have solved this without having to waste any staff time. I rather liked not seeing my name in this forum. Well at least its not hear for any justified reason. Also, I just re-read the rules of trade shops. I fail to see where I violated a rule even if what I did was actually my intentions. It appears to not be against the rules. If you want to call people out on breaking rules, you should make sure we actually are. Like TomKC said, "still your fault for not actually reading what the trade sign was advertising." And last but not least, the $20 difference x the 1 stars you sold me is $20. I will be sending you the money when I see you online next or when you see me. You've been offline for 15 minutes or I would do it now. If somebody wants to claim the other 8 as something they sold to me, I will reimburse them $160 Also now to teach you about what I actually did bait-and-switch the action (generally illegal) of advertising goods that are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior or more expensive goods. Since I was not substituting Netherstars for anything else, a bait and switch did not happen. What I did was the equivalent of buying a TV marked $599 and when you go to checkout it rings up at $649. Its not actually criminal especially in rare one off circumstances http://www.competitionbureau.gc.ca/eic/site/cb-bc.nsf/eng/03252.html And the first random state that I looked at, Massachusetts, requires 98% accuracy. This is my first instance in over a year. I would say I exceed 98% http://www.mass.gov/ocabr/government/oca-agencies/dos-lp/accurate-scanning-and-pricing.html I guess I should stop typing, I just really hate seeing my name here.
When I posted this report, I did not say it was intentional, and of course I believe that it could have been a simple mistake of just forgetting to update the sign. First of all, about you saying it was not a bait and switch. You were trading currency for nether stars. When you advertised that you will give 520$ for a nether star, and instead gave 500$, you are committing a bait-and-switch, either that, or a simple scam.Let's use the definition at hand: "advertising goods ($520 in ECC) that are an apparent bargain, with the intention of substituting inferior (500$ instead of 520$) or more expensive (Irrelevant in this case) goods." You gave an example of substituting more expensive goods, not inferior ones, like what the actual report is about. You therefore gave the wrong example.I am not saying you did this (B&S) intentionally, which you probably did not, I posted this here with the intention to report a trade sign not selling what it is advertised to sell . I am not saying you did this on purpose, as I understand the possibilities of this being accidental.Though I believe this would still be, by definition, a bait and switch. I'll let the mods handle this from here, I will not reply further unless asked to do so by the mods. ~SITUATION RESOLVED, USER CORRECTED HIS/HER ERROR, MODS PLEASE LOCK ~
