Can someone explain this to me? It was a reaction to seeing someone I haven't seen in ages, yet you still need to file a complaint? What is the purpose of this? I said "shit" and I have a complaint on me? Man, we must be in Orwell's 1984 now...

  • Inappropriate and vulgar language is not allowed. This includes anything put on signs, said in chat, written in books, renamed to on items (see Section 3 Clause 2.1), spelt out in blocks (see Section 2, Clause 2.1), or any other way of communicating.
    • Occasional mild to moderate vulgarities that are not directed at anyone (such as "slip-ups" or saying them in the incorrect chat by accident), self-censorship of a swear word or abbreviations that may imply a swear word (ie. WTF?) are allowed unless it is directed at another user.
  • Repeated or excessive swearing, and especially vulgar language directed at anyone, is not tolerated under any circumstance.
  • Racist language or prejudicial language of any sort falls under the vulgarity rule, and is considered a very serious offence, punishment of which may not warrant a warning before being given a ban,

 

What kind of childish snitching have you guys come to? someone saying shit shouldnt even be complaint worth, I say just grow up!

 

Of all the swear words, this is a very, very mild case of vulgarity. Have you any other evidence?

I'd also like to point out, two other users in that image said things as bad as I did, in fact, one user directed the word at someone. Why is the complaint only on me? This is extremely unprofessional and biased. I've already rethought my actions, now rethink yours.

 

So, here's the thing. The evidence provided for this complaint may not be much on its own. However I will direct your attention to the rules regarding this:

Repeated or excessive swearing, and especially vulgar language directed at anyone, is not tolerated under any circumstance.

This isn't occasional. It's more than that. I think you know that, as do most who have seen you in chat. Slip ups are one thing, intentional use, especially repeated intentional use, are completely another. One of the screenshots above shows Unknown saying "Don't swear, what's so complicated", and I do think that that is really a good summation here. It is not hard to watch your mouth, and I would quite strongly recommend you do so. If we see you swearing again, trust me, it will not be treated lightly.​
