Felon Username: legojake62Complaint: This user has not paid back the debt he owes me in the time allocated. He still owes 50kEvidence: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/contract.117252/ http://imgur.com/U8f7ETR Additional Information: I have not heard from this user since the contract was made. He made the first two payments within the time. But i am waiting for him to pay because i need the money when i agreed
Thank you for reporting this, Mystic However, did you pay him before this contract was ratified? It has yet to be correctly accepted by @legojake62, meaning it is not a binding legal document.
yes, i went ahead with the payment because i trusted him. I believe it should be treated as a binding legal document because he replied more than once. @DevotedToChrist ...im not sure whether or not that makes any difference, but either way, i have screenshots of everything that proves he knows about what he owes
Alright I'd be happy to accept that All I need is the screenshot of the money being sent and preferably the recognition of it being the loan money.
@DevotedToChrist yes i would, he still has not contacted me or anything, even though he has been on almost every day. i am still owed 50k from this player. I suspect he has gotten a small loan and purposefully not done the correct thing so that he gets away with it, but thats only my opinion... still..
http://imgur.com/SO8HAq4 the first amount of money $320000 was me breaking my sign the second amount is me paying @legojake62 $50000 you can also clearly see he has accepted the money with a simple 'ty'
Sorry if this is unnecessary as I thought it may be to help @Mysticgoli understand a bit more. As you can see here in Section 3, Clause 3 of the server rules the contract needs to be correctly signed and approved for it to be binding. Clause 3 - Contracts All contracts signed and approved in the contracts forum serve as proof of agreement, and must be followed through by all parties involved. For a full and current list of contract forum rules and regulations, please see our contracts forum sticky post about getting started on contracts. Also this was taken from the contracts forums sticky post and clearly says that all parties that were not the user posting the contract must fill out "the" acceptance forum which @legojake62 never did here due to him never tagging himself in it. This also states that a staff member needs to review it and approve it and then at that point it is binding. to my understanding this would mean that this contract although he agreed (incorrectly) it is not binding. This forum works as follows: 1. A user fills out the contract form, and posts a new thread containing the terms of the contract. 2. All other parties involved in the contract fill out the acceptance form, and post it in the thread opened by the first user. 3. Once all parties have signed and agreed, a staff member reviews the thread and locks it, binding the contract. Again I apologize in advanced if this is deemed as unnecessary, I just thought it would help the users involved to better understand the rules that have to do with contracts on the forums so that next time it is done correctly and for them to make sure a contract is approved before proceeding with the transaction.
i understand that. Thanks @upmoon for this. Its handy to have it at hand. My opinion on this is still the same, it is becoming more and more apparent the user has blatantly scammed me as he has been online, surely seen this complain, must feel some kind of guilt, and he is keeping quiet because he knows he is in the wrong, and it isnt a big enough issue for the mods to penalize him accordingly, As for him tagging himself, he has attempted therefore should be treated as an official document. ***My opinion***
Since the contract was never signed and approved by a staff member AND you lack screenshots of an in-game agreement there is not really any legal binding that legojake62 actually owes a loan to you. I suggest next time you plan to do a contract on the forums please please wait until the contract is approved before you handle the deal. This is exactly why. I am dismissing this complaint because of lack of evidence to prove an owed loan. I am sorry this happened to you, this is why it is very important to gather as much evidence as possible, and never do a deal without a binding agreement in place first. Complaint Dismissed
