Minecraft Name: Rethera
Suggestion:Water Should Be Free
Reason:I think water should be free on this server as water is an essential item for people who wants to create farms, ect. Right now, we need to pay $15 to get the access to water. I understand that this is a great economy server but I think that it would be a great improvment if we don't necessarily have to pay for water. Im sure that many people on the server will find it annoying if they have created something that requires water and discover that it is a feature that needs to be paid.
Any Other Information: Nope

This has been suggested many times before and while I wish this would happen, it wouldn't be a good idea as so many players that already paid for water would be frustrated and demand a refund. I wish water was free, but that'll never happen, you should check out this suggestion: https://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-the-placement-of-water-and-lava.134848/

While I understand many builders want to make farms what is the point of it? You spend your time making a farm on a tiny plot when me and many other people sell farm town perms for like $2000. Then you get lifetime access to a huge farm town.

This is one of the biggest detractors for new users, and I think that this should be considered to see if it's financially viable.
(also... $15 is not a big deal if we have a month-long refund a la portals) -
@Rethera I made a farm on the roof of my house without water...so just try hoeing and planting in the dirt and see if it grows for you like it did me. Check your town to see if it came with any farm access.
@Jacob43365 thats a big price for a builder! I did ok with my 10x10 wheat farm (now cocoa)-

I do free water placement in my towns, many other mayors do too. Or just put a call out on Trade to ask if someone can place it for you, it's usually fairly cheap in ecodollars.

When I started the server, I was really aggravated about this at first. But I have come to feel it is totally fine the way it is. As a builder I never had to pay for water because literally by the time I came back from mining world upset about my bucket not working, a user with the feature had happily filled my farm with water without asking for any reward. This was actually the exact moment I fell in love with the ECC community.
It can feel like a bad deal for builders to get started but they can get a lot of help. If not always free (though often it is), all the features are available cheaply from other players when you begin the game. I suppose that may sound plain inconvenient to builders, but it is actually best for them as early in the game the that is one of the fastest way they can meet and positively impress them on more established players who will give them all the help they need.
And, it also isnt a very expensive feature. Certainly $1 usd is too much for some who can never spend real money but at 5k per usd you can become water lord with less money than it takes to become mayor. There is a challenge in not being scammed in those transactions but there is info on how to do so available.-

I totally agree with what @oootopia said: I felt very frustrated at first, but I changed my mind very soon.
One thing that could be changed is the message users get when they try to place water: I have water since long and I can't recall what that messages used to be, but maybe we could change that to a form that doesn't discourage new players, explaining why there is a water feature (grief) and that they can easily ask someone in trade channel.-
