Well first off not having the right donation features will certainly affect your results. I'm not sure whether or not you have water feature, but if you do, I'd suggest bringing a bucket of water in case you run into some lava. I typically mine at y:9 but without pyro+ you should most definitely mine at y:11. E-repairs will slow you down and not having speed isn't too good. Multihome believe it or not is crucial to my mining, I often run into caves and sethomes for each cave and continue mining on so I can always access the cave when I feel there aren't enough ores. My routine for mining is usually to break everything and occasionally mine 2x1 and do not stop for about 10 minutes.

Most people sell all their stone, but I always keep a stack with me if I need it (you will since you don't have fly+). Once my inventory is full of ORES, I go home, drop off the iron and gold into a cooking pot, and my coal ore into a chest. The redstone satys with me, and if I have a stack of lapis or diamond or I leave them at home. My biggest suggestion now is to save for the proper donation features, get fly+ first!
