This is a to make this forum board active, shhh
As the title says: What inspired you to make your town? A TV show? Story? History?
I'm in a huge rut right now. ._. I don't know what to do with Mooville, and I'm thinking about working towards President and another town, since I want to build... I just don't know what to build. I'm feeling creative, but with no inspirations or ideas.
And.. People can ask here, too, for ideas with their town or towns. I figure the Mayor forum board needs to liveliness, and I'm sure I'm not the only Mayor (this goes for Presidents, too) that is a little stuck or confused on what to do next.
So... What inspired y'guys?

I wanted to do something unique with my town, something that will keep people wanting to come back on and contribute to my town. Right now with the landscape, and all of the things we have planned as a town, in the next couple of weeks, I plan to see an increase in, not only new residents to my town, but visitors from other towns. Growing up in an Irish family, Christmas time we listened to the song "Christmas in Killarney", that's what inspired the idea for the name of the town.

my town celestia is inspired by my old mistral and some floating islands I found in mcschematics.com
and mistral city was inspired by kami's lookout from DBZ that was also my first attempt when I was a builder in a spot which I never found again (all because kai bought the cow and made me lose the position) -
I originally designed my town to be a secluded high value area, one with lots of lawn and just lovely modern buildings. I wanted to use the surrounding coast line to make it a harborish city, hence the name (also a fantasy name generator). I have kinda switched my town from that and have used the giant castle city thing whose name escapes me to do a lot of my planning.

My Inspiration is all these flat towns set up in a grid with square plots and square houses. I plan for Endor to be a town built in and around it's environment. If a river is there build a bridge, a mountain becomes an apartment complex built into it's sides and interior, an underground cavern will have walkways spanning from one to another with living spaces facing each other.
Large good looking public buildings and even An aqueduct bringing water to residents who can't place it.
I would love to build a suspension bridge going across a large bay but that will require 4 towns, one on each bank and two taking up water. -

With my town i just took the word Great and went to goggle translate turned it into another language Iontach sound cool (in my opinion) no one will ever know what it means..... Well now they will, or unless they are Italian. you can also do this with other words like amazing, beautiful, spectacular, and many others that you can think of.

My name inspired my town even though my town isn't built yet.

An idea I just came up with. A town completely made up of boats and airships. More of a creation less of a town but I think it would be cool. Anyone else have any opinions on this?

My town was inspired by the natural beauty of the "extreme hills" biome.
