Well, we all know, everyone had/has a some type of mentor, who guided him through out ECC, and helped him in various different ways, making you achieve success, glory, freedom, or simply just being a loyal friend! Lets all be mature, and please refrain from posting about banned users. I'll start off! Who was your "Mentor": AnokFero How did he help you, and your meeting: I was tricked, removed from a town, from a user that is no longer within us. I was devastated, as I lost 30k worth of stuff. Being a Resident, desperate for help, I saw a Moderator talking on chat, by that time, AnokFero was one. He gave me a free plot on his town, and perms to his huge farm. Where I farmed my way up to mayor. He does not play with us anymore, but will always be remembered. I used to call him "Anoky", because at the time, I was fairly young, immature, and had no picture, of what life was really about. Do you still talk to him? Yes! I have him added on skype, and we talk, time to time.
No one specific really helped me, I figured stuff out for myself which is probably why it took me so long to get ranks. I have mentored, but no one really was my mentor. I wish someone had helped me, I could have done so much more in my first few months on ECC.
Who was your "Mentor": First off, I have to thank ECC's great mods. Among non-mods my help most significantly came from austinsplaneguy. I also received help from vegocoke and many other players who use the ECC Ventrilo client. How did he help you, and your meeting: I signed up for Ventrilo, and austinsplaneguy hooked me up with a plot in one of his towns on Main world. I built a nice house which is still there, although I don't spend a lot of time visiting it anymore. From there, by earning EcoDollars via a lot of underground ore mining and also some EcoDollars from donating to the server, I found a place for a town quite near spawn and was successfully granted the rank of mayor. Do you still talk to him? Yup, both on the ECC Ventrilo and in game.
I didn't really have one. My town mayor usernameofdeath was my idol but he always busy so I kinda learned on my own then started talking with cavemanb04 and HCPillarofFire and we kinda just showed each other stuff.
I never really had a mentor. Sure, there were people that helped me here or there. The mayor of the town even payed me 4,500 to get resident, just so i could be his co-mayor. And then he went inactive, then he got banned, and now i own his entire town. So no...no real mentor...and very few friends...
I've seen a lot of people, either don't have a mentor, or they were banned. Which is quite sad. Hopefully we can get some actual posts soon! ;D
Well, here is a better put together format for people to use. Mentor's Name: Truthfully, no one if anyone I guess it was Nightfire2141 or lskywalker7 although I learned much about ECC from myself. How did they assist you in starting off: Lskywalker sold me a 50x50 for cheap (7k), although it still had a large hill on it. One of the events in which he helped me is when he told me why glowstone dust was coming out of the dirt I was mining. How did you meet: Well, I asked for a cheap 50x50 plot in a town, and he PMed me that he was selling plots in the town of Nightville (if anyone wants to see my plot, it's the oak building near the town of Oasis) KvBillo owns the town now though. Do you still talk to this user?: Whenever he gets on yes, but he is very inactive.
Mentor's Name: BRODOG7777777 How did they assist you in starting off: I don't know why, but he decided to be my friend, my first and only friend on the server for quite some time. He gave me minerals, tools, and money to keep progressing. He won a lotto, paid for my residency and made me the co-mayor of his town, Elsavill. How did you meet: I was just a poor Builder living in a cave deep underground in the wild, selling Dirt for money without being aware of all the economical opportunities out there. One day he popped out there in one of his mining trips, I thought he was gonna steal my minerals. Do you still talk to this user?: I talk to him if he's on, but he rarely does so anymore...
As far as mentors go I had thundar001 who was the person who introduced me to the server, then as a builder and resident chewychunga helped me a ton even helping me get Mayor. During all this time I had people I talked to and helped each other like blackbelt4eva, usernameofdeath, Mardigan_The_Mad, jakeyray18 among a few others. Also having vent helped alot.
These were sort of my peers, but they definately helped me along the way. Xacheiree ShadowEclipex wabbit_season If anyone except for mrcreeper55 or rikari88 or lubash12 remembers them, +10 brownie points!
I have 2 people who helped me get started. They made my experiences awesome! Yankeefan1234 rosypolly Yankee sold me my first apartment. It was above a huge pumpkin farm. He taught me the ways of getting money and got me started. Rosy sold me my first legitimate "plot". It was a 20x20 I purchased for $2,500. I made a seven story wheat farm that I eventually took down and sold for money. Then I started to work on my towns.
Xacheiree, ShadowEclipex, wabbit_season. As killr said, +10 brownie points if you remember them! Anyway, I think my main help was Xacheiree. Yet, Shadow owned a town next to mine, and had always gave me advice on my town. And wabbit, well, he was just really awesome. He helped me build, and he was extremely helpful.
Who was your "Mentor": I didn't really have one, though if I had to say one, it'd be my first mayor, koekie1994. How did he help you, and your meeting:I was asking to buy a plot in trade, just having gotten resident a bit ago, and had earned about $4,000. He messaged me telling me he had a 24x18 plot for sale for $2,000, an offer which I jumped on. I made that plot a 7 level pumpkin farm, and now own that town, holding it as a sanctuary of where I first started. Do you still talk to him? I don't, I never knew them very well, and they have been inactive for a long long time.
My mentor was officepwnz123. I bought a plot from him, which was 10x10, when i was a builder I do still talk to him, i know him very well
