hi guys and gals of ECC,

just a quick question, ive recently started playing ECC and i use skype to chat to friends ive made in game, however, i am currently using my iphone headphones to chat with (yes i do know macs have built in speakers and mics so i dont actually need a headset)

im looking to buy myself a decent pair, probably wireless, maybe turtlebeach or something as good!
Needs to be Mac compatible and needs to be less then £100 GBP (which is $169.99USD)

if anyone could recommend a pair that would be awesome!

look forward to your replies :)

The pair I use is a hybrid wired/wireless. Of course the wire is only really used for charging, and its a very lengthy cord as well. It is a TurtleBeach PX3, compatible with PC and Mac and it is also compatible with PlayStation and Xbox. It only costs about $80-90 USD. I bought mine last summer and other than some minor wear and tear it is in excellent condition, and its been sat on, dropped, cords yanked and knocked about since I tend to wear it when I do housework. The audio quality is also very nice, it does block out any outside sounds, I tend to wear it with one ear off most of the time, because people of my household like to talk to me, but when I'm alone, I have both on and its just gaming zone with my music playing and everything. xD, they are also quite comfortable too. I can wear mine all day and not get any sores. Battery life is great too, if I charge it overnight I can use it all day without it dying on me. It also has an auto-shutoff feature where it turns off after 5 minutes of not transmitting any audio, which really helps conserve the battery, if you happen to be AFK for awhile.

    hi mate,

thanks for your reply, infact these are the exact headphones im looking at, i do currently own some x11's, well i think they are anyway!

however i dont use them because the stupidly long wire does my head in! hense wanting wireless headset.

do you know just remove the batteries and replace with new ones or is there a proper charging cable that powers an internal battery that doesnt need to be changed?

ive read a few reviews and some people are saying they arent great and the mic can constantly keep cutitng out, have you experienced this before?

thanks again for your reply mate! :)

The mic does cut out if you get far enough away from it, as of now I can go all the way downstairs and to the other side of the house from my transmitter and still get a good signal, however I do find the signal strength at distance weakens if the battery is close to dying, but that is to be expected. I have not experienced any issues when I am right at my computer, if I cut out it is because the internet is very shabby where I live. The range is good, as long as there are not other radio-frequency emitting things between you and your headsets transmitter, microwaves interfere and so do aerial antenna(bunny ears) for Tv's. My fiance and I own the same model, and we have no experienced any issues with interference.
The battery is an internal rechargeable battery. As long as your battery is charged, you do NOT need to plug this headset in to use it. However the headset CAN be used while charging, it just needs to be plugged in. There is a transmitter that will need to be plugged into your computer via USB, the charging cord connects to the transmitter.
