MacroMod Tutorial - Chat Buttons http://tinyurl.com/ECCbutton The Question - What are the boxes at the top left of the screen? How can I make them myself? What are the boxes at the top left of the screen? Those are Macro buttons. They work like powertools, except they are much more flexible and can be personalized far more than a powertool. Plus, you don't need ExtCommands to use them! For example, if I click the button "[Question] Ranking", the message, "Ranks are bought through the server forums..." will play in my current chat channel. You can use them for commands like /repair, Trade advertisements, channel changes, and much more. How can I make them myself? The first step is downloading MacroMod, please follow the instructions on their download page here. After you have successfully downloaded MacroMod, enter the chat screen. Default is the "t" button. At the bottom right of the screen, you will see a Wrench icon. If you hover over the wrench, it'll say "GUI Editor". Click the wrench button. Spoiler: Image Example You're now at the GUI Editor, at the bottom left of the page, there is a Plus icon. If you hover over the Plus, it'll say "Button Panel Commands". Hit this button. Spoiler: Image Example A tab will appear. Select "Add Button" Spoiler: Image Example A yellow box will appear on your mouse, move the box to where you want the button to be when you open your chat. Once you've found the desired location, left click. Spoiler: Image Example A "Properties" tab will appear. You will see a setting called "Display Text". Type in whatever you want the button to look like when you open chat. This is NOT the actual text the button will say, only a title of sorts. If you want, you can edit the foreground color as well. This will change the color of the button. Once you're done, press "OK" Spoiler: Image Example The button you created will be gray, and selecting it will yield no result. In order to actually make the button play a message, select the gray button in the GUI editor. Spoiler: Image Example After clicking the button, you'll find yourself in another command page. At the bottom of the screen, there will be a box similar to a chat box. Select the box. Whatever you type in the box is what the button will actually do. For example, you can make the button "/repair all", or "Try /kit starter for some free food" and this will be the message the button plays. Once you're done, hit "Save" Spoiler: Image Example You're done! You can now exit the GUI Editor. If you open chat, the button should appear and by clicking it, the message you typed should play. That's it! Making a button only takes a minute, and is well worth the automation it offers. If you have any questions or suggestions, please leave them below and I'll respond as quickly as possible!
I mean is there a way to set so like I am selling plots in my town is there a way to put that in /ch tr even if im in /ch l ect?
You can make the message "/ch qm tr Selling plots in my town! PM me!". the /ch qm makes it a quick message, and will go into Trade since you put tr after the /ch qm.
Haha, thanks! I stopped using the buttons once I got Staff, in fear that while trying to warn someone, I'd ban them on accident .
Maybe... I had many more macros than just buttons. Anyway, I felt I was becoming too automated, too repetitive. A lot of people think Staff are emotionless, having automated answers like a robot didn't seem to be the best idea if I want to disprove that theory. Admittedly, that's the real reason I don't use them.
Macro is awesome... Ingame screen: Chat screen: *Looks at @Falconaire's [Question] buttons* I think I copied you... *Points at Builder FAQ*
Hey Falcon, I really want to use MacroMod again, but I have a few other mods. Currently, I use OMGShaders (shader mod) and Optifine. Is there a way to use them all at the same time? If so, how do I do it Thanks, Iticip
This would interest me as well...I wanted to install shaders, but since most of them require optifine...and they all create new profiles. If there is a way to have that, I'd be grateful for an answer, too!
