Patents aren't fully needed. Patents should be needed for a company name or something, but not an idea itself. In this situation imagine patenting an airplane. You patented it and it is yours, so no one else can make one at all. That's simply outrageous. I don't believe in patenting server-wide stuff, but I do believe in copyrighting things such as company names and items.
true, you can make up an idea of a car. you cannot patent it so that nobody can make a car but you can patent the idea of putting some cool unique feature to it and patent it so nobody can copy it. Put you cannot disallow people to not biuld their own cars and sell it. But you can copyright the idea of adding some unique feature to a car. I cant believe you still dont get it
Cant i patent my insurance business, or idea? I dont want 10,000 builders copying me to make money. I thought up the idea, i should get credit. Or if somebody wants to make an insurance business, i get part of the earnings because its my idea.

That's not fair just because you made it. Someone made the first wheat farm on ecc, shouldn't they get profits from it? My point is that it isn't fair. You don't need more profit or to be greedy just because you made an insurance business and not even close to the first.
if your insurance company is better than those builders, everybody will use your insurance company and those builders wont get rich because all the customers came to you. Which will only happen if you hire me. im kidding, my point is, I am interested in joining your company.
Who made ones before me. If you can show me someone that made a business, sold to many people, and created a forum page about it then I understand. But insurance business isnt the same. A wheat farm is completely different. Its just farming. In singleplayer minecraft when do you ever use insurance? You dont. Insurance is an idea, and in the real world ideas can be patented.
The difference is that when something is patented it doesn't completely belong to that one person. People can make stuff that is the same idea but is not completely the same. And also if you want a better example then take loaning, the first person that loaned had the idea, that doesn't mean he should be the only one. I could make an insurance company and have it be more successful and you be mad at me but still, you won't get anything from it just because it was your idea. That is a completely stupid idea. It will never happen so stop asking for it.
Well, 1st of all it isn't the first insurance company I have had 1) Pitched to me. or 2) Attempted on ECC. That being said, I think the innovation is in what you have tried to insure. You aren't doing scam insurance (which is what I've seen before) and frankly this might actually work. Sadly, there is no patent system on ECC... and one hand that is saddening but on the other it is logical. I mean heck, if we had a patent system... omg all the storage wars would have to pay Jetscat... Anyways, the point is I think its a good idea and frankly, if your business becomes good enough, you will be trusted enough that no one fill fall for the other insurance companies (if there are any.) Let me put it this way: We do not have any form of a patent system let alone a civil court system (the legal system required for law suits) in place. There is no way to do what you are suggesting.
Correct. Storage wars was initally JetsCats business, his concept, his ideas, etc. Now there are hundreds of the exact same business running around.
