Can someone bid in order to have the shop transferred to a specific person? While I certainly can't have a second shop, I know someone who would like to have one, whom I would like to have one, if I could try and get it for them?

 

You could pay them your money and have them bid on the shop, perhaps. Maybe if they win, great, and they'd repay with shop profits, if not, oh well maybe they pay you back? Just an idea.

 

But if I'm online to do the bidding and they are not, but they have all the money...

 

? I'm confused.

To reword what I said before: Kmax pays kmax's friend (let's call him/her jmax) enough ECD to bid on the shop. Jmax bids on the shop with kmax's money. If Jmax gets outbid, he/she uses more of kmax's money to bid on the shop.

If Jmax ends up winning, great, jmax now just bought station 68 with Kmax's money, and now eventually has to repay Kmax whatever the winning amount was (perhaps with shop profits over time). If Jmax loses, then Jmax will repay Kmax whatever Kmax paid Jmax to begin with.

I guess this is one way to have your friend Jmax get station 68 without you having to bid (because you already own a shop). I may be misunderstanding you, so let me know if I am. Long story short though, jmax has to have the money in their bal ready to bid on the shop in some way, shape, or form, if they want it.

 

Since the auction has an expiry time in EST (which is my time zone), but not that of my friend's, if they are not online (game or forum), and get outbid, if I don't have the money in my balance I cannot bid for them.
So if I can bid to win the shop, then have it transferred to them (since it can't go to me), that is an option I would like to have open.

Given what Dewsy said in his thread, my guess is that isn't possible, unless you want to temporarily give up station 16... which would cause even more complications. By bidding and winning, you're technically going to own Station 68 briefly before it gets transferred... meaning that unless you can get it auto-transferred to your friend, you'd have to relinquish 16. Other than that, I don't know, Dewsy would really have to answer that one.
