Stupid changes that were made.

    These opinions are my own but I know that some agree with me.

    1) The price to claim a plot. It now costs $1,000 in game money to claim a chunk for your town, it used to be around $30, the explanion I got was that the economy had changed a bit, a bit isn't enough (in my opinion) to make the jump from $30 to 1k, something like $250 would've been better.

    2) Crates. Crates are a good idea but the way it's been done isn't the best, survival is now basically factions but without the hiding away part. And within the first few hours of the reset people have basically just been buying crate keys and making themselves op straight away and also the spam till the vote party is annoying it would be better to change it to every 25 votes not every single one.

    3) New spawners. Although adding the new spawners has its benefits it has a big downside, how easy it is to get them and make an autofarm, this is becoming more factions than survival, you don't really have to work much to acheive your goals, you can just get a crate key and get a couple pig spawners. It also drastically changes the economy, stuff in shops was always overpriced and it still is but factions has high prices in the shops because you need to have big grinders to sell stuff in bulk, on survival the shop prices haven't changed that much which leads to mass money within a couple of weeks if you sit next to an iron golem spawner for a bit.

    4) The organisation. The server was down for maintenance for like three days, I'm not sure what was happening but the reset didn't go too well, people didn't get their ranks, vaults weren't cleared and there were no warps set up for players to use there was probably the opportunity to fly around the world for a bit and load some chunks to avoid the ammount of lag that happened as well.

    5) 1.8 with 1.9 support. This was just silly, not many people play with 1.8 anymore since the update because survival was directly 1.9 and when I asked staff I was assured that we would be able to use the new blocks and items from 1.9 after the reset, not much chance of that now is there, the End is probably just like 1.8 End with no End cities and such other things but we wouldn't know because there is no End portal at spawn.

    6) Things that would've been a good idea.
    -Having something that tells the trusted players what they can and can't do at spawn.
    -Having a warp pit
    -Having a warp donate
    -Making the vote party announcement every 25 or so votes not every single one (I mentioned this already)
    -That's about it.

    I fully agree about the crates and spawners.
    These additions to survival make survival less challenging.
    Players can afk at spawners to easily get items,..crates are also quite op and unnecessary.

    I think the concept of survival was fine before the reset, no need to change it.
    I don't know why survival has changed that much but I'm sure there is a good reason for it.

    The issue with the ranks is also quite strange, same as the issue with vaults which were still full.

    I really appreciate the hard work people have put into the server. But I don't think the bugs/mistakes (or however you may call them) could have been made.

    There was a lot of confusion with the staff at the beginning, 1.9 is actually very unstable and yes the end is 1.8 and there will be an end portal setup shortly. With about a week and a half to put up 4 almost 5 servers, we had to cut back on certain features which are to be added into each server after it's initial release.

    All this is doable no problem.

    Statistics say otherwise...


    A lot of these issues were resolved as the servers came up, We lost a lot of sleep over the servers so some things may have been incorrectly setup or missed, but those things will be taken care of. The main world is pre-generated, it was the resource pit, nether and many commands being sent to the server which caused a lot of the lag. I am working on tweaking things to improve the servers performance as well.

    The economy will be changing on the server and this should help cut down on the massive amount of towns and claimed land (which leaves no room for players without a town to freebuild, etc..)

    As stated in another thread, this is going to change. The chances on these crates will be dropped a lot so people who buy keys don't get super OP rewards.

    If it's any consolation, i am very much interested in balancing things out as much as possible as i do care about the economy on the server. I would like to avoid having to reset a server purely because the economy went to complete shit. (not that we would have to)

    There was little space to freebuild but a less drastic change to the price to claim a chunk would've been better, as I said it used to be around $30 and $250 would've been more fitting but $500 would've slowed down town claim, 1k completely stops it, I guess after things start going towns will get bigger but for starting out, it's not much to go on.

    Absolutely and if the prices on towns is still an issue after the economy gets rolling we can look into changing things up price wise.

    I think this will give players an opportunity pool their money together to help one another keep their towns up, all of them will be working to keep it up daily.

    I already did that in my previous town and it would literally need more and more money every time a chunk was claimed, and now that iron golem and creeper spawners have been removed ( which overall is a good thing) it makes it even more difficult to get money to claim their town.

    As it was said though, as the economy develops the price will probably go down or up, depending on the situation

    There is a difference between challenging and difficult/tedious but yes I hope that the price goes down and not up

    Crates aren't that OP when you keep getting bloody carrots from them xD

    I said that before they were nerfed and the main reason I said that was because of legendary or whatever it's called, you just had to buy 20 of them and you were set with spawners
