    Why are minecarts banned? They lag, yes; but people can make wonderful roller coasters. Please consider unbanning minecarts.

    They were banned due to players using them for that reason... They abused them and we had to take action to prevent it from happening again. As well as them launching them into other player's plots and path as well.

    One bad apple spoils the bunch as they say.

    It's sad, i know since I use them for redstone invention.
    Sadly it's one of the reason for extreme lag.

    Well minecarts do actually laggg alot when there r like 20 to 30 minecarts placed down

    Minecarts are an important part of lag machines, so that's why they got banned.
