The problem is that - just like pretty much everything in the suggestions forum - this is a subjective point of view. Disagreeing is a logical consequence resulting from that. For example: That is not exactly "PvP to a higher level", I'd rather call it "a Player-versus-Anything match. A bit of PvP, and PvE to fill the gaps that remain". Whether this is good or bad, however, is rather subjective and I will therefore skip it in this evaluation. Unless you want PvE to become the main aspect of SG the number of mobs would be severely limited. Considering how many crafting ingredients I find whenever I actually play SG, chests would most likely remain the primary source of such items. If potions were removed from SG because they were breaking the game's balance, this change has most likely been well-thought-out. I am not convinced that undoing this change is a good idea; however, this point becomes irrelevant if brewing stands continue to be missing in SG.
The brewing stands remained in SG, the only ingredients that where factored out is the blaze powder+sugar+Netherwart and a few others. Through mobs, you could rarely get some of the ingredients to craft potions which would be excellent.
Ah, okay. I believed brewing stands had been removed because it would have been easier to remove or at least caused an effect that does not depend on chest content.
Nope, all you can make now are awkward potions which do absolutely nothing. But you can use the brewing stands to make lingering potions with kit grenadier.
When literally nobody is supporting a change besides the person who suggested it... it's pretty useless.
Okay? Not everyone disagrees/agrees with a suggestion that someone makes. Nobody has to want the change, though when one is made you get used to it, it's called adapting. It may be useless to you or some other people, but overall it isn't in the use of survival.
I can guarantee I have played MC more than you, played ECC more than you, and PVP'd more than you. Adding mobs would be useless because why would it be useful? You are saying for the unlikely change that a skeleton drops a bow it is useful? Bows can be found quite frequently if you just look in chests. Lol.
This entire suggestion isn't just about killing a skeleton and getting a bow from it. Lol. You can get armor/weapons/ingredients from these mobs. I'm not suggesting to remove these items from the chests I'm saying it will add onto the gameplay. It would also make it harder for players to pvp while getting attacked by mobs which may help you win a match if your smart enough. Edit: I've also been playing Minecraft since I was eight years old. So about seven years now, probably almost eight.
How do you know if it's going to be a good addition or not if you truly don't know the outcome of this change?
Don't twist my words in a use against me, as I could then again ask the same question. I know the outcome because I've actually tried this before. Fighting other players while trying to fight off mobs at the same time. You may not always run into mobs all the time in SG, I was merely suggesting to add them to where they spawn at slow rates and not crowding SG. There's nothing wrong with adding them, and as said above by myself, "they can be useful, hey don't always have disadvantages."
Is that necessarily a good thing? Like @314 said above, letting players make potions was removed for a good reason.
