Personally, I love my Surface Pro 3 (Intel i5 128GB) and it does the job great! Did I also forgot to mention that it has a 2K screen?
Dang! you got the SP3?!?!? I've been drooling over that thing since they announced it May 20th at their event..... So expensive though xD
Yeah, I have to say that it wasn't easy convincing my parents to purchase it for high school. I'm actually typing this whilst on my SP3

I play runescape, minecraft, gmod, bio shock, TF2, and several other games on a minuscule Mac book air. If it's an apple, it will work. Additionally, MacBook airs are cheap.
true, but those are the ones with the really low battery lives. I saw one that got swiped up for like 600 USD, but it had like 5 hours of battery life :| in consumer terms, that usually means like 2-4 xD
well, you kinda defeat the point of a macbook air if you're tethered to the wall It's designed for those road warriors who need something to chuck in their bag in a snap and need all day battery life. If you don't use it for that purpose, you may as well get a heavier laptop with more graphics and processing power.
Also, I can get a higher power laptop which is slightly heavier with like 12-18 hours of battery life for the cost of the 2012 Macbook air on ebay.
I personally bought my computer for about $600. It works fine for me, and I got the touchscreen for only $20 more than the version of my computer without. Its quite useful, and im glad I got it.
