My computer seems to really like minecraft as I run a 64x64 texture pack on max settings and still manage to get around 300 or even reaching 400 in my town. Well on other games (counter strike go) I can barely achieve 20 fps. also my screen resolution is 1960x1080 and I have dual screens and I still manage to reach massive fps.
Another way to reduce lag is to turn you 'FOV' to 'Quake Pro', turn clouds off, lower your render distance, lower your sound and turn off shadows
After reading this thread... okay, my PC might not need more FPS than the 600 I get with default textures and 200-300 with 256x256 HD textures. I read it mainly for the "Reduce lag"... but that is nowhere mentioned. D:
If you are lagging and you've installed optifine (and the server isn't being DDoSed like it has been), your internet connectivity and ping is probably an issue. I use WTFast, a freemium service which lowers your ping by routing your traffic through one/two of it's private servers, instead of the 5/6 government ones that your wifi goes through without you noticing. Download Link: <Mod-Edit> Please note, this is not malware/adware/spyware/virus or anything malicious. This is a genuine service used by MLG teams all over the world. Enjoy (To install, follow the on-screen instructions in the installer) --This is not meant to be an advertisement, just a helpful suggestion of software--
I used WTFast before; it worked. Well, at least until the free trial ended. ^,.,^ Also, may I ask why you are linking a domain registered to Turkmenistan instead of the actual wtfast.com site? If you use Wi-Fi, that is already a major source of latency. At least in my home network signal travels the same time via Wi-Fi to my router as it travels from the router to the server.
The reason I put the playnow.tm link is because that's my Affiliate link for WTFast, that redirects to the homepage.
I understand now. Please note that profiting from posting affiliate links on ECC is not allowed; I have removed the URL. I recommend linking the actual URL instead.
