Sounds interesting, but i do have 3 questions. 1-Can shareholders use the farms to profit themselves after their done with the chest? 2-Im not sure exactly how the payment goes, could you explain that a bit more please? 3-Does the town/company have a portal?
Hockeykids, Here are your answers: 1-Yes that is the main point. Any farming and harvesting done after filling dividend chest each week is for your profit. 2-Juggolopolis Inc. pays dividends weekly, usually on Sundays around 6pm. At that point in time, the contents of all of the dividend chests are sold, added to the excess seed sales (I do this during the week and keep in spread sheet as collecting and storing became time consuming) and any other town revenue (juggo games, juggo pvp, store sales etc.) this is then divided by the # of shares outstanding and the dividend per share is set for the week. Each shareholder is then paid based on the # of shares they hold. At this time I also determine bonuses for services and work done in town, this is added to each shareholders dividend amount. 3-Yes, we have a portal 18th floor of town portal area at spawn, turn left, 1st portal on right on the second row
So you put $2,592 worth of items into your box (9 x 3 x 64 x $1.50), and get paid back $681 per share(last posted price). Seems like your getting screwed in this pyramid if you don't own at least 4+ shares to make a tiny profit. With the price drop of pumpkins I assume you now have to put in either wheat ($1.75) or melon blocks ($2.00) so you give up even more money to make back your tiny payout. Lets not forget your initial cost to "buy" shares, and the more shares that are sold the less you get "per share" as well. I understand town residents can make more on their own after filling the box, or by doing other things and bonuses. Was just analyzing your profit/price per share model. RagMan
RagMan17, It is good that you are thinking this through. The parts that you are missing are the following: - shareholders have access to tons of farms, filling a chest takes about 40 min per week I think on average - shareholders farm the rest of the week at their leisure and make tons of money, we have multiple mayors and presidents as a result - payout is not only based on dividend chests, but also on excess seed sales, sales of goods sold by company, and by various events - this company is best for builders and residents that want to earn money fast as one of the keys to making money on this server is to have farms to harvest, because we have many active members the fields grow fast so they are ready more often - there is a limit to the availability of shares on the market and additional sales are distributed to existing shareholders so dilution is limited - there is also a market where you can sell your shares to other shareholders and you may be able to do this at a profit Hope this helps explain a bit.
I was recomended this would make me mayor in days. However i bought a share and never used it again. First of all i get paid one fourth of what the chest is worth. Second there are so many shareholders the farms are almost never grow. Third it takes about 10 harvests each week to break even. I wouldn't recomend this to anyone unless they are willing to put long hours with little profit :|
It pays better over time. And nobody gets money on this server with out putting in some work (at least you shouldnt). This town doesn't just give you money, you actually have to work for it

10 harvests? Try 3. I also got 20k from this in 2 days whats that about little profit. Also theres usually 3 shareholders on and at the farm at a time.
In response to Gramster's comments. He was unfortunately a victim of the 8 hour roll back that we suffered a month or so ago. He purchased a share and next thing you know he was rolled back out of the town. This is not an explanation of why he did not make any money though. We have stacked wheat farms that are auto-harvest and if done in a cycle, the first one you plant in done by the time you harvest the last. Each harvest nets over 780 when full for each farm (paired chunk aligned farms). You can do 10 farms less than an hour which would net you almost 8k, and that is not even working hard. When you join juggolopolis as a shareholder, you get access to a large built up infrastructure. If you choose not to use it.. then obviously you won't make any money.
No divy paid the week of 8/12/2012 due to server issues and down time. Your chests are still full and seeds are a head start at over 40k. Will resume this week!
