suggestion for new users

I had time to think about it. Also, since then I have joined other servers with this suggestion implemented. I personally hated being forced into a tutorial and left immediately.

 

Simple fix: Spawn in the tutorial, first thing you see slightly to the side is "Don't want to go through tutorial? Click here/step here to go straight to spawn!"

 

IMO still annoying.

 

Then we must balance the amount of users that are annoyed enough by clicking a single sign to leave vs the amount of players confused enough without direction that leave.

 

I do agree spawn is confusing. That is a separate issue however.

 

I am pretty sure that in the old ECC we did, but now we don't

I would hope our staff team would assist anybody in need of assistance.

 

Historically, I have always done my best to address questions in the servers I've been active in for new players, but that is difficult when they are stuck in local chat rather than public and I am not near spawn. Staff can't always be present, they are human too, and all players that are part of this community should also pitch in an effort and create an inviting atmosphere for new players. This helps gain more loyal, long term players.

 

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to leave the tutorial than to figure out what you're doing if you don't visit the tutorial?

Basicly you're saying this would annoy some users that it up puts them in a tutorial. I'm saying can't they just easily leave the tutorial and for the users that need it they can stay and learn from it.
