The 'Money returned after being scammed' thing has been suggested sooo many times, they've all been declined.. y u no learn!?
Why does andrew not want to put more money in the economy? Since then everything would be worth nothing. If he just handed out the money, this wouldn't be a hardcore economy server.
Hands out the money? Are you not reading the thread? If I work for 1 hour and get 15k as I usually do and buy a Giftcard for 60k as I usually do, that means it takes me 4 hours for just one Giftcards, assuming my farm is ALWAYS planted and I don't have to share it and I don't need breaks. Now Lee, you just $50 worth of Giftcards in a raffle, meaning Andrew just saved you 20 hours of work, assuming the above again. Now why is that so much different them my hard earned money being returned from a scammer. Even I just won 17.5k total in raffle prizes this month, why does everyone say "oh, thats okay if Andrew puts money into people's balance out of literally nothing, but no, no one gets money back if they're scammed".
Exactly. I want him to put money in the economy. I see absolutely no reason that the money I was scammed can't be returned. Also, we don't need to get into the whole Bob buys diamonds x64 for 2000 or whatever, as someone else said the materials could either be returned to the user, or, the scammed player could be given the bought items.
I guess you don't know what 'hardcore economy' means lol And if Andrew did put money into the economy, you know that melon sword you worked your butt off for? (Idk if you have one or not, idc) well now everybody has one.
I keep trying to explain this. What's so hard about it If Bob scams your money, turns it into diamonds, and tosses those diamonds into lava, Andrew can't give you your money back. Because then he'd be scamming the guy who sold the diamonds, and things get mixed up quickly. Also, money coming into the economy is bad. If you want free money being spawned in, all I can say is find a Server where the Owner doesn't care.
Here are a few scenarios this will not work in, "One day you are scammed $100,000 USD in real life." - Without insurance, if this money has all been withdrawn completely, how can you retain the money through the economy without actually having to make it back. The correct answer is you cannot retain the money. This is why we are not just an "Economy Server", but a "Hardcore Economy Server". "You set a complaint on a user with information showing that you were scammed $1,000,000. " - What could actually have happened is behind the scenes, yourself and your friend have this idea. In the complaint one user shows informations showing that he/she paid for this, but did not get the "item" granted. Whereas the friend could just pay him back, get banned, and the other user is happy being that he has an extra million dollars on his hands. This could all get setup by a few multi account users whom will be making tons and tons of money without anyone actually noticing. Thank you for listening, blowtube123
The potential for purposeful and abetted scamming is dangerously high Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4
As I said before, I don't think you read my original post, the money is only returned after the player has their files deleted. So yes, Andrew would technically be making money the out of nowhere, BUT, the money from the players account is deleted.
Alright, lets discuss why Inflation aka the disaster it will end up in. http://www.econlib.org/library/Enc/Hyperinflation.html This is a link to a research essay on Hyperinflation. What is hyperinflation? Its where the economic value of money is dropping and items is rising. Now ofc thats going to be a 'What?' point of view. Let me explain. In RL Hyperinflation has led to worthless money and economic collapse. Have you ever heard of the German issues that occurred where they were handing their kids stacks of money to play with. Bread costs several hundred dollars. Why? Because the worth of the money dropped. How does this relate to ECC? If money becomes easier and easier to obtain (which is why we keep the farming prices low) then everything costs will rise. Imagine an apple costing $5,000 to a player and a Melon sword costing $5,000,000. All because money becomes too easy to get. Eventually the money because literally useless. $5 worth of ECD today becomes $5,000 tomorrow. Inflation is bad. It ruins economies. It brings governments to their knees. If this could cause inflation, and it could, then it has the potential to cause hyperinflation. Anything that can cause hyperinflation is not acceptable. Revanrose6
This has already happened in some aspects. Now I have not been playing this server nearly as long as you Revan, but I read back at the first of the trading ecd for donation features thread, and someone bought fly for 90k, that is incredibly hard to imagine now, for example when I was a resident in July I bought fly for 375k.
Actually this is not due to inflation. ECD to USD translation is entirely up to what the server players will buy at. To be honest, we used to have much higher inflation in those days. Ages ago, pumpkins were $2 a piece and players could make a ton of money very quickly. Pumpkin axes used to be 100-300k.
