[Suggestion] Send new players immediately into the tutorial

I think this is a good idea, as long as they have the means to quit the tutorial straight away, a tutorial won't be read if it's forced on someone, but if someone's given the choice to read it then they're more inclined to do so.

 

It's also the norm that most players never touch the forums. So, yes; you are not one of the default groups of players, as you can competently form a sentence in a written post.

Remeber i was really confused myself when i joined ECC
Maybe the change/upgrade the tutorial to. Make it alittle easier for the new users on the server(clean it alittle)

+1. When i was a builder i was so confused. This was one of my first servers and i didnt even know how to chat at first! let alone make $! i support it all.

 

Tutorial isn't really needed I know that I haven't ever been to the tutorial but i just started playing as I would do in RL .. I got a job thinking that was best way to make money and then started working for myself so it was like life.. No one to baby you and you make what you put into it

 

LOL. I did the same thing. I would go back into the tutorial looking for that U shaped wall to figure chat out. I must have gone back at least 3 or 4 times.

I have a couple of issue with making players go through the tutorial. What if they are here for Survival Games only? Many of the younger players aren't going to want to be forced to go through a tutorial. I think there should be a command /tutorial that warps new people there. And I think it should be the last line in that large block of text that loads up when chat loads up when I log in. Maybe when you get Resident the reminder goes away.

 

Make it so at the end they can click a sign asking a few questions to see if they understood and if they get it wrong they can do /mod and a mod will assist them

When i mess around in spawn zone and builder ask question in local chat,
I always tell them to go to tutorial portal first, and then ask again if you still don't know things,
but I have never thought about this idea.
This would be great way to make new comers learn right away, and help to save times for everybody.

 

I agree with this idea, but the tutorial island is still to be finished and it has been uncomplete for a whilst now. So i cant see this happening unless the tutorial area is completely finished.

 

I sold fish for 2.5 each and wheat for 1 each when I was a builder for resident. I didnt know you could /sell 1+

 

I would like to bump this from the dead because I support it, and wish to see this happen. Although, I do agree that new users must have the option to leave the tutorial right away if they so choose.

Going to again show my support for this, it is so hard to explain to a new player how to make money, the tutorial has an easy money making section with all the farm prices and everything.
