[Suggestion] The Placement of Water and Lava

The fact that people have to donate for water is ridiculous. People shouldn't donate for water, people should donate for the absolutely overpowered kits that this server provides. That's all people care for anyways, the kits in the hungergames that make you win all the medals and make you look amazing when really you just have money. There's a reason why there's 1/4 of the amount of players - this server praises those who don't value the money they have. They let their kids spend $200+ on a video game.

So if you ask me, give the 'poor' a break and let them use water. It's not harming everyone if they need to build farms and poor it over their cobblestone base. You can still raid it and demolish them, it just takes a few more minutes worth of effort.

I think it's a great. I remember being annoyed by this when I was a builder and it could be good for the server as more people would stay.

But, what about the people that has donated? It would be unfair. You could like add something new to the water feature so it is still attractive.

Despite I have donated I still think it would be cool.

I like this idea, but how about this: Buying water makes you able to place water without a limit?

I know, but maybe there can be some extra perks added to the water donation.

 

As I said I think that would be a good solution.

 

2 placements of water a day... Sure... But giving them an op amount takes away from the feature.

Also, the ones who leave aren't the ones that stay loyal and but donations to keep the hamster running. This might sound rude but... Who cares?

 

BUMP I saw at least 6 ppl quit today based on the fact that they cant place water lava i can understand but water really needs to be able to be placed by everyone and everyone with the water feature that's ACTIVE on the server should get a credit so like we just did with the portals you give everyone a month to apply for a credit and after that thats it.

 

It is never good to lose players - especially 6 in one day but I believe that these players would have found any reason to quit as they obviously were not willing to invest some time and effort in a hardcore economy server. If we were to have given them water, they would have just found another excuse imho.

 

Yes however this is one of the main reasons Aside from Kits you have to admit paying for water is kinda crazy tho u could go anywhere else and place water for free this is the only server that i have seen charge for water.

 

Everyone should be able to place water. This is driving away users and I can see why. They join an economy server but they can't make their own farms.

Give the people with water water+ and the people with water+ depthstrider3 and a boost in mining efficency underwater.

 

When I was a builder, i just found a river, and placed dirt in it tho.

 

True but the normal player that joins wont think that and just quit as soon as they hear they cant place water also id you want water on your plot you have ti wait forever for the mayor to add someone so they can place.

 

I saw at least 2-3 builders come on today then leave due to them being outraged because they can't place water. No suggestion is perfect, but we will need to make some compromises to keep ECC thriving. I agree with the idea of a /kit water (With a 24 hour cool-down) that will include 5 or so water blocks/buckets. This may be a incentive almost for more players to buy the water feature instead of making more players quit with rage.

I always thought this was the defining feature of the "hardcore" economy. And while I hated it as aa new builder, it definitely created a different, more dedicated community. A community I like.

That being said, not being able to place water is only a big deal for those players who don't think too much. Any builder can get a plot with farm perms, a free upgrade to resident, and water isn't even needed for the two best crops to plant. In fact, the lack of water makes those builders realize early on that this isn't ur run of the mill build a plot in a dark corner and farm some wheat for bread while mining server. Not having water made me more likely to reach out to the community (many of whom do free water placements).

2) Those players who rly want water and can't think of a way around it are probably gonna quit even with free water as soon as their giant farms in the mining world get wiped.

3) I don't think it's possible to give a limited number of water placements per day.

4) Despite my love of water being a feature, not a gift...its a tad overpriced. I say we cut it down to $5 or $8. I shouldnt be paying approximately the price of mayor (when converted to in game money) to be allowed to place water/ice.

**DISCLAIMER** As a builder, I made friends and was able to use a semi-auto cocoa farm to get $$ (without having water. Yes, it is possible).

 

Or we could just make water free like everyone else i see no problem with this And for those who say OOOh its because of griefing that's bull no one else has a problem with water.

 

What would happen with the people who donated $15+ for water

 

AS i said above they would get 1 month to claim there credit to get something else. after that 1 month they will just have to deal with it things change its not a big loss its the smallest donation feature.
