All depends. As jakeyray told me during this exact complaint, it's down to the moderators discretion If we feel we cannot get a good idea of when the event took place without time stamp evidence, then it can be denied. Don't want your complaint to be dismissed for lack of evidence/no timestamp? Well your chances will improve dramatically if you have a time stamped screenshot, we encourage people to time stamp,p screenshots if you read the wiki. So yes, your complaint can be dismissed if you don't have a timestamp evidence, just as your complaint can be dismissed for being dealt with in game already, but people still feel the need to report things that have already been dealt with and they are dismissed. Yet we don't say in the rules that your complaint will be dismissed if it's already been dealt with in game... It's more a common sense thing.. Your advised to take time stamped screenshots, which we have included a guide on the wiki and in the tutorials section for people to use. If you do not use time stamps on your evidence, you run the risk of the complaint being dismissed as we cannot know when the event took place and it might have already been dealt with. We try to avoid warning people multiple times for the same offence, as we feel it's wrong to do so.
If you have to have timestamps for a complaint to go through, then by definition, they are REQUIRED. I'm simply asking for it to be stated somewhere, just on the wiki. This is a complaint to clarify rules/regulations instead of the mismatched policy currently in place that you revealed.
What mission is saying is that if you do not have a timestamp, there is a possibility that the complaint will be denied, but not every complaint without a timestamp will be denied.
Because if you make it a no timestamp policy only 1. All the previous screenshots without time stamped evidence are technically null and void 2. You will have more complaint dismissed because of no timestamp when there is a chance they can be resolved. In every case, we try to be fair, so if we can get something resolved, for example scamming complaints, loans, illegally removed from towns. We try to resolve them, some may have time stamped evidence (which speeds up the process tenfold) and some don't, but we still try to get them sorted because the evidence can be used. It's just in some cases, especially like caps in chat, with no timestamp, it could have been any time, literally, you have no idea on the complaint, so it could just be someone filing a complaint normally like 95% of people here do. The other 5% may have a vendetta on someone or dislike someone, so throw in a complaint or too on the same user monthly or weekly. For convinience, half of me thinks 'let's be harsh, add the rule, means more cut and dry cases, measly to deal with and a little less work' The slightly more helpful side of me who actually cares for the members of this community thinks 'this will hurt a lot of new users who haven't been on the forums, less people will get justice for things that have happened but no time stamped evidence means we can't do anything' It's a catch 22
All that said, there is still the issue of nothing being stated in the rules/complaint form about this. Something has to be stated, especially if this is a new policy, which it seems to be.
Personally, I like and appreciate both halves of you Never an easy job trying to balance good and bad, but overall, I do feel that every staff member does what they believe is best for all of us.
The policy has been around quite a while actually... Since sky was server admin I believe... At least a year. I agree there should be some sort of mention that there is a chance of dismissal without a timestamp though.
