They are to manage the offical threads of Gooseberry & handle any applications in relation to the town @Zeurals Co-Mayor: The Co-Mayor is responsible for managing town applications and processing 70% of its fundings from the selling of town land/housing/shops to the Mayor. The Co-Mayor is also in power of keeping the town in tact and direct the lower staff. The Co-Mayor assists the Mayor with his job. This is a nightime shot of our main road "Berry Road". This section shown is the main shopping district. This is very early development of our town square. We plan of surrounding it with beutiful pre-built homes. That yellow one in the back is not part of this, its our development home & will be removed. The cliff in the far middle will be a public park which will overview the town. This is our town bridge that overpasses our named river "Missisippi". This will connect a subroad to the other side. Gooseberry has been under development for just over 3 weeks now. We are near the completion of our town square. In november, any pre-built homes/units will be displayed here with pricing. First Gooseberry home completed! Its a medium sized home located on Berry Rd. It has two floors with plenty of living space & windows to overlook the town. The style of the housing is in match with the theme of the town itself. This one took me a while to design, but now I know what i'm doing, expect more complete soon! Progress is comming along smoothly. Stay tuned for more updates!
Gooseberry has a new addition that isnt to common around the server, The Archery Training Centre with a Pub incorperated for those who love to hangout in the archery fields and socialise. My intentions are to allow people who enjoy PVP to train on light up targets, bet their mates to a target shootout or just have some good ol' fun. Heaps more comming our way!
Maple Street is the first housing street branching off Berry Road that I have created. It consists of 5 current 3 story houses that allow for private living. There will be more housing down Maple Street although this is what it is at this stage in time. Also, I will be making previews for each building you can buy. I've done one for shops, so go checkout what it looks like under "Shopping District" - "Shop Preview" Spolier. More updates swinging by soon!
First Month Update! Its been just over a month of Gooseberry first seeing its development. So far its looking great in my eyes! Heres a little FAQ for players curious and have asked me questions ingame: - When will Gooseberry open? I really want a house! Gooseberry is currently being created single handed by myself. It does take time and because I put alot of detail and effort into it, it takes longer to create then most other towns. I have ut up rough ETA's of opening on the top area, although this constantly changes to fit my agenda. I do want Gooseberry to be open before Christmas and i'll be pushing for it. Wow, those materials are so expensive! How do you fund them for your town? I spend all my income on materials until the last cent. The utter most expensive block i've constantly used is the Quartz Block costing $11 per block! No, i'm in no way rich, I just dont have spare money, never. What made you want to create a town for so long rather then buy one and sell straight up and make more money? I don't play ECC mainly for the economy, rather the large community and the ability to share my creations and allow others to get involved. But when I'm not building, i'm usually farming to get funds to spend on the town. Do you want me to be your co-mayor? I've been getting this alot recently. I personally choose people to run my town that I can trust, know they will make the right choices and look after the towns community. No, I'm not looking for a town mayor at the moment, although this can change. I'll trade my star sword for your town? I don't think my effort is the same worth of a tool, no thanks. I don't plan on ever selling Gooseberry. Did you plan your town? It looks very organised! I didn't plan the entire town. I built each area seperatly (Shopping District, Town Square, Housing, Farm and combined them to create one large town. Yes, a few ajustments were made to help the buildings theme fuse together. You can actually notice the shopping district is made of oak wood, rather than dark oak. Thats because I found out dark oak looked nicer later on. Now, lets move onto some visuals! Here are some new features comming to Gooseberry! Gooseberry Government Building | Castle appearance that I want to resemble similar to that of Disney's Castle. This building will extend into a second town combined to Gooseberry once I eventually get the funds for. The theme is kept to that of the towns. The tower you see there will be the main gate to the government building. I want this entire building to reach really high to the heavens. If you like my work, share some support with me. TOWN UPDATE A shoutout to FuryFudge for donating an investment of a large amount of ECD into my work. Many thanks to him and here is what his investment has allowed me to do and create: - Complete the Town Square and the unit rooms. - Complete the left side of of the Shopping district. - Create some nice little eye candy additions such as the horse statue located in what will be called National Park. There will be alot more within this park, can't wait to show you folks. - Speed up development on a much more detailed Governernment building which will resemble Disney's Castle. Town fireworks on major events will be held there. FuryFudge contribution has allowed me more time on the town rather than farming all day long. Cheers, here's what some of its gone toward. I took a peek in-game at your town, and I must say, it is looking good so far! I like the style of it, and the archery range is perhaps my favorite building.
If you ever decide to sell plots, I would absolutely buy one just for the fun of building something worthy of your overall plan.
Notice I have end of year exam's upcomming. I won't be spending to much time on the town for around 6-7 days. Once the exam's are complete, I will be back with even more time to work on it. I have planned (Wow, you actually planned!) a section on Gooseberry to have larger housing and more space for those who wish to have a little more growing room. These buildings are quite large and may be more expensive to cover the costs of the materials used and the room they take up. I still want people to be able to afford them so i'll arrange a price that will suite most people. (Il upload an image of a property once a few are complete).
Final Update Before Release! Over the past two weeks, I've been further planning more ideas for Gooseberry. I have also started work on another section of the town, being mentioned in the last notice update. As I wanted a touch of venice within my town, I had the idea of creating a side where this addition could fit in. It will also be the location of the largest housing avalible in Gooseberry. For those idea's I've been planning, I want to keep town members not only welcome in the town, but have access to farming, luxury living and entertainment. I have focused on planning more activities/entertainment oppitunities to give the town members. One that will be an addition is a Mini Golf Course. Yes, this is possible, using a snowball, throwing it along ice and avoiding obsticles to achieve a hole. This addition I would find good fun and keep those bored players in action, with friends or solo. So what have you been doing for the past two weeks!? Digging, Digging, did I mention digging? Yes, I have been working hard on the underground farm for the players. It is not fully complete and will grow in size over time. Although it currently is around 80-90 blocks long. This update is the final one until I fully complete Gooseberry and release it to players access. The final release post will have tons of new additions and visuals! Stay tuned for that!
