Can't find one to put this glitch report in, but, many players have been complaining that when they fall out of the glass spawn box, they glitch back up in it and die from "fall damage"

Request: I wish to skip the process of making farms and build straight in creative mode on my island for skyblock.

Reasoning:
(This goes into the past a little first)

As some of you may have noticed, I have not been on a lot these past few months. The main reasoning for this is because I'm in post-secondary education. Since December/January, skyblock staff had worked very hard on making a new spawn, and I was able to help with this. Building this and seeing it used gave me a lot of happiness, both in the process and the result.

The reset was a little unexpected, I knew Alex had planned to do it, but never really gave an exact date, till one random night I checked my skype and I read in staff chat that Alex had reset and launched the new skyblock. I was over-joyed and a little dismayed at the fact I was not able to screenshot a bit of my island before it was deleted (referring to my home floor, for those of you that know). I had planned to add more to that build but I have more or less gotten over it, what is built will eventually be destroyed.

So that brings us to the current situation. We've reset, and the first thing and only thing we do in skyblock is build huge, efficient farms before prettying up our islands with the rare and tedious blocks. This is not a hard-task for an experienced player like myself, but all we need is time to play. Time is the biggest factor here, I am running low on that time and with my assessment on the time I can allocate to mc, I would not be able to attain my goal for skyblock in a long time.

My dream, which I should clarify, is to build one main floor (and a second floor if time permits) that is in the survival world theme. It will be a split of 4 different biome themes and I wish to make villages in each one (no villagers unless I obtain them naturally). The island sizes are 263 x 263 x 256 so it's not some small project, each biome will take a lot of attention to detail. I want players to visit my island and hopefully enjoy the build, make suggestions and/or feel inspired to not just make farms on their island. The island will be made completely player safe and no player should be able to attain any items that were influenced by the use of creative mode (Ex: farms and their drops). The island is purely decorative and the creative mode is meant only to help make this dream a reality.

tl;dr: I don't have enough time to build farms + gather resources + make my dream island. I want to skip the farm building and resource gathering to make a beautiful island.


Guidelines:

1. I will be staff first, and a player second. Helping other players that require staff to player interaction will always be first before my progress in building.

2. I will not use my access to create an advantage in any skyblock farms.

3. I will not intentionally use creative to spam high island point blocks for island levels. I will be building so this will of course generate island levels, but probably not enough to effect /is top list (Ex: Diamond blocks, obsidian, etc)

4. I will not give any items not attained by survival means to other players

5. I will only use the game mode for building on my island or when needed for server (server building/fixing major glitches due to server)

6. Anytime a situation calls, I will immediately change my game mode back to survival if players need assistance in fixing things.

7. Other staff can tp to me randomly and check that I am not abusing this power (or console can watch, idk)

8. I will not add any player to my island, this will be completely solo, always. Other skyblock staff may offer to help if they want to.

If all of the above is accepted by staff and Alex, I will be announcing my access to game mode to the public as well and clarify to them how it will be used.

I may need to edit this post to clarify and restate certain things to suite the wishes of other staff or because I am half asleep.

 

I don't think Alex is going to approve such an unfair advantage to one person despite the circumstances. Everyone has their personal setbacks and yours are not more important than anyone elses.

 

I don't know if the players would agree with this.
They already think staff abuses their power
And by doing this they could think like
"Hey why don't we get creative to do this too blah blah.."

 

I am not claiming my personal setbacks are more important compared to anyone else, I am just taking action for myself because I can only live my life and no one else. (Kinda worded oddly, sorry, can't think of a good way to phrase this statement without sounding conceited)

That's a very good point aves, I do think that by posting and seeking the approval of the major skyblock players (if and only if approved by staff/alex first) then I will proceed with this plan.

I basically need approval from these three groups (Alex, staff, and players), and I will not move forward until I can satisfy all of them.

 

I'd like to explain how this situation occurred first off:
As most of y'all know, Factions has a lack of stack majorly right now, so today a ./helpop was recieved so I went to handle it by private messaging the player. I recieve that his "friend" was incorrectly tempbanned by , @Schelmixi (in which she just handled an advertising helpop from factions about 15 minutes prior to this), so I ask why the player believe this. *NOTE: This player was absolutely rude and "threatened" to sue the server and myself*, He said his friend only said a server name not an IP. I tell him that saying a name is still a form of advertising so that is why the player was tempbanned correctly. Then, the player directs me to the ./rules I read the rule containing the advertising:

In a way, this player was correct based of the ./rules his friend didn't really break a rule that server addressed. I then reffered the player to the rules on the Factions thread page, he brought up another good point. Not many players have a forums account for many reasons in comparison to how many actually play. Trying to stand by the server, I there forward continued to debate with this player about this issue, ending up having to use this rule:

Which, myself I felt very bad for doing hence I was not staff on Factions and it was incorrectly warned to the player, but I had to maintain the rules of AEM. In the end, the player was, in a way, correct his friend was banned incorrectly, due to the such specific-ness of the rule. I know Mixi did what was correct, as lack of staff on Factions we all have to help pull up the slack and she did what was absolutely nessacarily for the server.

I furthermore, make a comment in Skype Staff Chat, and Sway hops on. I requested him to change it and he told me he would rather not and explained why with his opinion. @SWI explained that due to the lack of staff and recent demotions on Factions, changing a rule would make it harder for "Non-Staff, Staff" to help enforce and explain the rules to players. I understand his opinion, we discuss it with @Gluupor @Schelmixi further, and in the end @SWI was the only one that could change it, and he couldn't be persuaded .

I just feel that the rule should be changed since there is no ./warp rules in factions, the only rules the factions players have to go by is ./rules. I know this is possibly the first/only situation that this has occurred but I don't think this should happen again. Faction players a disrespectful, rude, and just immature most of the time... word will get around and eventually everyone is "rebelling" against us.

The rule needs to be more vague, so it can also uphold the support of advertising inappropriate web pages, server names, etc, etc.

With this, I go to all the AEM servers and do ./rules I find all of them have the vague rule except KitPvP, some servers like Skywars and Creative don't even have ./rules! Skygrid doesn't have the rule on ./rules but it has it in ./warp rules.

This is just my thoughts, and I hope I haven't offended anyone with bringing this up and explaining the story of the situation. Please comment your feelings on this .​

 

Honestly, i'd prefer to avoid changing rules as that isn't something that i feel i should be doing for starters. This is something you should request Alex do. It's not my server.

Also, as for inappropriate links, etc.. Factions is the kind of server that to some extent allows things like this if i recall correctly.

 

I think that the rules should be changed. The whole purpose of the "no advertising" policy is so that players do not leave AEM, and telling a player the name of a server could work just as effectively. But of course, it is Alex's decision.

 

The rule looks very str8 forward, if the player does not say an actual ip address then they are not breaking the rules, end of....its not our place to try and interpret rules like this, so i have to agree with the player in this instant that his friend did not break a rule.

There are a few issues currently with survival:

• A few players have not been able to create chest shops despite using the proper format. UUID issue?
• Credits randomly disappearing for players. (It's happened to me too, they aren't lying)
• Towns randomly disappearing or kicking the mayor.
• Don't know if this is still happening, but I've told players not to use the echest because people have reported it's contents disappearing. Echest is a very useful thing grounded in vanilla mc, it shouldn't have to be avoided.

Sooo yea, today, on june 16th, sometime around 4ish, survival crashed.

Now, today when I got back on, I realized that I died, and all my stuff was gone. When the server crashed, I was running across a field, so there was nothing that could have possibly killed me.

I had a bunch of stuff with me at the time, but all that really matters is my diamond armor (cant remember the enchants) An eff 5 silk unb 3 pick, and a sharp 4 looting 3 unb 3 sword.

Soooo if I could get my stuff back, that'd be great :/
