(NOTE: I noticed halfway through writing this that I only talked about armor but this DOES work on tools as well) I noticed some of you asking what is salvage and how do I use it? So here is a hopefully easy to understand explanation. Repair and Salvage are a part of the McMMO plug-in. Salvage is "taking apart armor" where if you have unwanted armor you can retrieve some of the ores it is made up from. (Note: I am unsure about this working with leather armor). To access this feature place down a gold block (aka salvage anvil) and click on it while hold your UNDAMAGED armor. However, what you are able to salvage and how much you receive from salvage if dependent upon your salvage level. To find your salvage level you can do /salvage. Salvaging items will NOT get your salvage level up. To increase your salvage level you must increase your fishing and repair level. You salvage level is basically this equation (fishing level + repair level / 2 = salvage level) Fishing is simple for hopefully. Get a rod and a pond then fish with the rod. Repair will be explained farther in the thread. Until your salvage level reaches 50 you will not be able to salvage diamond armor. I believe you can salvage iron and gold right away. As your level increases you will have a higher to earn more than one ore, if the armor is enchanted to receive a book containing the enchantments, and be able to salvage damaged armor. WARNING: Be sure to BE CAREFUL when using tools around gold blocks because there has been multiple incidents of people accidentally salvaging tools they didn't want to! Now for repair! Repair is what it sounds like. It is used to repair armor. Similarly to salvage to access this feature you need to place an iron block (aka repair anvil) Example: I have damaged iron armor I want to fix. I grab the armor and some iron ingots. I click on the anvil holding the damaged armor. An ingot of iron disappears but the "health" bar on my armor has gone up. You can continue to click until you armor is fully repaired. This does use up your ores to fix it! Unlike salvage you do increase your repair level by repairing! You can repair iron and gold armor only until your repair level is 50 or more. Then you can begin to repair diamond armor. As your level gets higher you will have a greater chance at keeping the enchantment on the armor.
